Review
In recent months, Colleen Hoover soared through BookTok and social media as people began sharing their love for her stories. Although she isn’t a new author, in 2022 she rose to fame and her sequel to It Ends With Us was the most preordered novel in Simon & Schuster’s history (check out the story on Virtue, titled Colleen Hoover Is Keeping Printers In Business).

Naturally, when you rise to fame chatter grows, and it is inevitable that someone will find a reason to hate. Currently, Hoover is being criticized for her stories and that she is romanticizing domestic abuse. Nonetheless, It Ends With Us was inspired by her mother and the abuse they both experienced in their home, by hands of her father.

Lily is a budding entrepreneur when she meets Ryle, the doctor. After several unexpected run-in's, they decide to pursue a relationship. It Ends With Us is a telling of Lily’s experience of love and disappointment, as well as the emotional turmoil of loving someone you shouldn’t. In the famous Colleen Hoover fashion, it is an easy read but does not lack its ability to leave the reader feeling like they made a friend in Lily.

Enjoy this book with a glass of cabernet or a shot of vodka… because when Lily doesn’t take your advice (no matter how loud you scream at the pages), I promise you'll feel increasingly frustrated with the state of her relationship.
