February 2023 - A Time Loop

A time loop story is a plot device in fiction where characters re-experience the same span of time more than once. Often their goal is to find some way to break this cycle of repetition. A common example of this is found in the movie, Groundhog Day.

Here is the link for our A Time Loop list, feel free to add your suggestions to it!

Meneniareads (nenia) | 1 comments Found a book called The Loop by Jeremy Robert Johnson, and I'm wondering if it's about a time loop, and if anyone's read it (and can recommend)?

Stacy | 18 comments I chose Recursion by Blake Crouch. I’m about 1/4 of the way into it and it definitely has me intrigued.

message 5: by Karin (new)

Karin Dang, I came close, but it's not the same day over and over, but she gets clues as she goes back farther and farther in time until things are fixed. Doesn't count, but it was a good novel.

I read In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren, 5 Stars

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

Mitra | 56 comments I read Before the Coffee gets cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. It’s the first in a series of four and describes four separate people going back and forward in time. It’s probably four stars though I think at first I thought five.

Laura (readingmyway) | 2 comments Since it's Black History month, I'm trying to use books by Black authors for the mini-challenge. Does anyone know of a time loop book by a Black author?

You can try Opposite of Always. Haven't read it, but considering it for this prompt.

Laura (readingmyway) | 2 comments Thanks Anna! I should have mentioned - Opposite of Always is the only one I could see on the lists that looked like good Black rep, but I read it a year or two ago. It was pretty good and definitely works for this task!

Erica Palmer (egpalmer04) | 7 comments Are the February Mini Challenges supposed to be completed in February or can we complete them throughout the year? I know its up to everyone how its completed so I guess I am just wondering how everyone else is doing it?

I try to finish the mini prompts with in the month the are given, but last year I went back and completed the ones not finished. I would guess that a majority or at least a majority that post on the facebook group, finish in the month of, some in the following month, some when they can get to it.

As per our website:
– Do I have to complete this challenge in February?

Nope! You can complete this mini-challenge whenever you like! If you don’t finish this mini-challenge in February, feel free to carry the prompts over into the coming months. Some members also prefer to complete their full 52 book challenge first and then go back to complete the mini-challenges after. Do whatever works best for you!

I loved Life After Life and read it probably 3 times. I threw the sequel across the room I was so disappointed by the ending. Would love to hear what you think when you finish it
