Geenah (geenahnola) I've recently started using Thriftbooks. They have an app. It's pretty good so far.

Josephine | 4 comments Hello. Redshelf is good for buying eBooks or phsyical books at a cheaper price.

Edit: You can also create an Open Library account to read free eBooks. You borrow the eBooks.

Goose (sirgoosey) | 58 comments pangobooks and ebay! I especially like Second Sale, they tend to have hardcovers for $4 plus some books are under a buy 3 get 1 free sale so, I recently got 8 books for like $28

message 11: by Ari (new)

Ari | 24 comments There’s this amazing site called BookFinder that searches through all used and new options from all the sites other comments have mentioned and then gives you the stacked options!! It’s amazing :))

message 12: by C. (new)

C. (venicebtch) For anyone in France, labourseauxlivres.fr has a 0.99€ sale on at the minute... I am literally filling up my never ending tbr on it now :) (mainly french language and I don't know if they post overseas)

Isha ☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚ | 80 comments Pangobooks is a lifesaver for me

abebooks, ebay :) Also, charity shops

message 17: by Alita (new)

Alita | 10 comments I'd like to recommend Better World Books. Funds raised from sales go to book donations and library funding. Never had a problem with quality or price!

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Wob and Ebay are also quite good places to buy from.

message 19: by Demetra (new)

Demetra Walsma | 16 comments where I live, we have a half price books which is second hand books for half the price, so like an 12$ book at barnes and noble you can usually find for 6 dollars. I bought a couple shadow hunter books for like 2$ each. if you looking to buy big series such as twilight and Harry Potter, thrift stores are your best bet

message 20: by bookworm (new)

bookworm | 1 comments at Goodwill (the one I live by) I hope all of them have this. But each book there is $1 each. You'll be surprised by what you find there and how much of a selection they have.

message 21: by Angela (new)

Angela Fenstermaker | 4 comments thrift books (app), book outlet (website), and any independent stores near you

message 22: by jasmin (new)

jasmin | 11 comments you could try using the internet archive, its a website that's basically connected to open library, but there is more books there! u have to borrow the ebooks tho

message 23: by Summer (new)

Summer (ya23453079wordpresscom) | 1 comments I don't know if anyone knows this, but in Britain (and maybe the US?) there's an online shop called Ebay. I literally bought the entire Shatter me series for £14 and you can get first hand, good quality books for like £3 each. :)

message 24: by Lucía (new)

Lucía I do not know if this will be of any help for anyone, but if you live in Spain or Italy, I'd take a look at Wallapop! The shipping is a bit expensive, but there are so many books and so cheap.

The Life Of A Firefly (thelifeofafirefly) | 171 comments I use World of books. You can buy books in many conditions and some are brand new. The website is www.wob.com

message 27: by maureen (new)

maureen (maurnk) betterworldbooks.com

message 28: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn | 6 comments I usually go to Half Price Books or any thrift stores near me to look for books. I would also recommend looking into little free libraries if there are any near you (there’s an app for it called Little Free Library app). I’ve been using my library card a lot more, so I haven’t been purchasing books very often.

message 29: by Gracelynn (new)

Gracelynn Cutlip | 33 comments I use Thriftbooks. They have a lot of really good options, and once I got a first edition of a Harry Potter book for the same price as a normal used one.

message 30: by Ellie (new)

Ellie | 5 comments Bookoutlet.com is a great option, I've used it. Books are so cheap, they have a scratch and dent section and I got one from that section for $3 and if it had any scratches or dents I honestly couldn't see it lol

message 31: by Ash (new)

Ash (backinthestacks) If your public library hosts a Friends of the Library book sale, it's usually super cheap. Our children's books go for $0.10 each and hardback adult books are usually less than $1.00. Last time I went, I bought 48 vintage Nancy Drew books for less than $5.00!

message 32: by Rowan :) (new)

Rowan :) | 176 comments Thrift books is great!! You can get sooo many books for the price of 1 hardcover and I think it’s like anything over $15 is free shipping

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I use Ebay. Great service and quality, it just takes a good week or so to ship it to my house.

I know it's been mentioned but PangoBooks is my favorite app for buying and selling used books! Also, this is me shamelessly plugging the link to my PangoBooks Bookstore 😬

https://pangobooks.com/bookstore/this...

message 35: by Kai (new)

Kai (punkrocker1012) | 28 comments I get second hand books from Facebook marketplace! Just search up the book(s) you like, text the person asking if they have them, if they're available and what time to pick up and then go on a drive to pick up what you requested!

message 36: by Kai (new)

Kai (punkrocker1012) | 28 comments Celena wrote: "Local book stores maybe? Definitely NOT thriftbooks because they cannot guarantee the edition they send and their version of “good” “very good” “like new” is really skewed. I used to use them a bun..."

Now that is just outright disgusting.
