My first day of March was spent arriving in Cairo where I will be working for the next month. It is my first time to visit and while it will be mostly work, I do hope to do a bit of exploring.
This is a one book task. Read a book of at least 200 pages that satisfies one of the following three options.
Required: State the option you used.
Option 1: The Nile. The river is beautiful and central to the city and I’m excited to watch the sunset on a felucca tomorrow. Read a book were all the letters in “NILE” can be found in the title. The letters do not need to be intact or consecutive. Subtitles are excluded.
Option 2: The Pyramids. I cannot leave without visiting the pyramids. As a math teacher, I’ve often used the pyramids as a real-life example of a 3 dimensional shape. The base is a polygon (flat with straight edges) and all other faces are triangles which means no curves!
Read a book written by a single author whose initials (all initials) are made of letters without curves. Letters may be reused, as in LL, Laura Lippman
Letters without curves for this task include: A, E, F, H, I, K, L, M, N, T, V, W, X, Y and Z.
Option 3: Religion. Ramadan will start at the end of my trip and next month will celebrate both Coptic Easter and Eid al-Fitr which are the major two holidays in Egypt. The market is already full of colorful lanterns to ready for Ramadan.
Read a book with a word in the title or subtitle of at least 4 letters/characters that can be made using only the letters found in either "Coptic Easter" or "Eid al-Fitr".
ex. Eid al-Fitr, fire: Heir of Fire
Coptic Easter, escape: The Escape Room
Required: State the holiday chosen and the word.
