Brittany Fichter (brittanyfichterwrites) | 27 comments Hello, everyone! I don't know how many of you have used the updated Nook Press ebook uploader, but I figured I'd ask. I uploaded my .doc file successfully only to discover that my formatted style with indents does not work. I did not indent manually, but instead modified the text style to include special first line indent of .38 inches. When I uploaded the file to Nook Press and tried to review it, all of my indents have disappeared. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how to fix this? I really appreciate your help.

Brittany Fichter (brittanyfichterwrites) | 27 comments An Update:

I was able to get the indents put into the file...but I had to use the manual TAB button, which the directions said specifically not to use. As odd as it is, it now looks much better on the previewer. Unfortunately, now I'm stumped by the "Contents" button at the top of the previewer. My TOC works just fine, but the Contents button on the previewer doesn't do a thing. I'm not sure what it's there for or if I need to change anything for it. Nook doesn't make this uploading as easy as they say it is.

I'm so sorry! I have no idea about Nook! Have you Googled it? I hate for that to be my response, but I know nothing about Nook files. :( So sorry!

Helen Erwin | 69 comments I have not had very good luck with NOOK, as a matter of fact I cannot update my file to them.
I have e-mailed back and forth but have just been given the runaround and pasted prewritten answers.
I have published succesfully on iBook, Kindle, Amazon and Create Space without issue.

It is a shame. I´m sad to see that I´m not the only one.

Brittany Fichter (brittanyfichterwrites) | 27 comments Thank you, everyone! I contacted their tech team, and after multiple attempts at getting help, they finally told me they weren't having any issues, and that I should simply publish it. Sure enough, it's fine now that it's in the Nook store. Apparently their Previewer wasn't working right. Ugh.

Helen Erwin | 69 comments Glad to hear it.

Do you have proper chapter breaks in it?
They told me the same thing, but I don´t see chapter breaks in mine.

Brittany Fichter (brittanyfichterwrites) | 27 comments I have Continuous Page Breaks instead of Chapter Breaks. The page breaks worked just fine that way. For whatever reason, however, the Previewer just doesn't like to show all the formatting.

Helen Erwin | 69 comments Really, that is REALLY good to know. I might give it another chance tomorrow then.

Brittany Fichter (brittanyfichterwrites) | 27 comments Hopefully it works for you! It made me pretty nervous. I went to B&N and downloaded the sample to my Nook reader, and it looked great. I was ridiculously happy to have the whole thing done. Lol.

Helen Erwin | 69 comments I would be too!
I will keep you posted.
