PattyMacDotComma | 1244 comments Aussie writer Adrian Hyland's outback and remote rural mysteries feature female protagonists who are unruly in the best sense of the word - they have to be.

Jesse Redpath is great in The Wiregrass, and my only complaint is that Hyland doesn't write faster.

PattyMacDotComma | 1244 comments Neil Gaiman has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons (for him, that is), and Goodreads disallowed posting of this review for a couple of weeks. Presumably the trolling (or whatever) has died down, because I was able to post it today.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman Coraline is a bright, inquisitive young girl living in a house that has another magical half with what appears to be another family - hers?! Spooky story for kids and an enjoyable read for adults.
