Gayane♡ (gayanesbooks) | 35 comments I’ve definitely had that happened to me before many times and it sucks. What I usually do is find a book that sounds interesting or I’ll re-read a book that I’ve enjoyed in the past. Hope that helps.👍🏻☺️

hannah | 8 comments never force yourself to finish a book! if you've been reading one for a while, take a break or start something knew you've been looking forward to reading :)

Shelby Kay | 30 comments I just got out of a 4 ish year slump! My biggest tip was rereading a book I loved that wasn’t too long. The feeling of accomplishment I got from reading a 200 page book vs the fight to read a 500-800 page book was amazing. It felt nostalgic and I did it without it taking a long time because of the shortness of the book. I also knew I loved the novel so I was able to go into it very excited to get the parts I liked instead of risking my disappointment if I ended up not liking the novel. It also helped to do a bit of self care before you start reading too! I washed my face, cleaned up my room and sat in a comfy arm chair in my favorite pjs with a warm drink, put on some background noise and dimmed the overhead lights so the environment only made it easier to sit down and just read for a few hours.

Moa | 4 comments When this happens to me I go back to something I know I love, pride and prejudice fixes most things in my opinion :)
Or you could try reading a short story? Brokeback mountain is wonderfully written ❤️
Don’t force it though. Set small goals. 10 pages a day is great.
Good luck!

Nat K ! Thank you all so much for these tips! I’m definitely following all of them :)

rae (jurdan's version) Definitely read short, fast paced books!

mez ♡ | 7 comments someone suggested not forcing yourself to finish a book but the opposite worked for me!! to get myself back into reading the way i had been only when i was a kid, i read a book i thought i would enjoy (due to it going viral on sns) and absolutely hated. i forced myself to read the whole thing and get through it because it motivated me that my next book would be much more enjoyable!!
hahahaha now when im in a bit of a slump i give myself a day or two break between books and find something i probably wouldnt enjoy, just so i can read it easily and have a laugh at it. it always brings me back, lol!

LINDA👒 | 21 comments i usually force myself to read 15 pages a day and in the meantime I read another book (short)

nicki (ak’s version) ✧.* | 18 comments I read shorter books to help get out of the slump! It’s usually rewarding to get that first title out of the way.

Audiobooks help me too!
