Curious Madra | 1 comments I am ABSOLUTELY sick of Goodreads getting rid of manhwas, I mean they are a reading material just as much as a manga and graphic novels! I just don’t understand why you feel the need to block people from rating and commenting on manhwa? Your guidelines seriously need a look at a million times, you are going to lose users on the site. This website is suppose to be a site for people with a common interest but instead it’s always a slap in the face every time I store a friggin manhwa in my library for others to see! This is just ridiculous like I’m pretty pissed off that the site is going into the wrong direction of making it a popular site!

I just had to look up the definition of manhwa as I have never heard the term before.

But librarians are volunteers with little to no influence on what is considered a book on Goodreads.

To talk to Support, please use this link. https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta... Or you could go to the Help Section & see if there is any discussion there.

Scott | 8865 comments The same rules apply to manhwa as any other kind of comic. If it was published as a book, it can be included.

Even if it wasn’t a book, it’s a story material at the end of the day, Goodreads are too limiting and it’s ridiculous how they got rid of the add book button.

Do you have one on your shelves? Can you link to it?

So if I just wrote a story here, it could be listed?

The point is that there is nothing against manhwa as a whole.

Yes, it could. Stories published online are valid entries on Goodreads.

I don't think a story posted as a message response would be considered.

Correct. I guess I misinterpreted your "here".

Elizabeth (Alaska) Curious Madra, when the manhwa is published only online, it is not accepted on Goodreads. Neither are Manga or any other webcomics. Whenever the manhwa is complete in print, it is acceptable content here. See below:

https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

Webcomics [unless published in individual volume(s) in print or as ebook(s)]

Curious Madra | 1 comments That’s rubbish, the manhwa should be included on Goodreads regardless if it was printed or not. They create good stories just as much as all types of stories out there..

You were complaining because manhwa is being treated differently than Manga. It is not. They are being treated the same.

Actually, Jaclyn has invited us to discuss in this group.

Is that in another discussion? I did not see that.

Yeah, but of course I can't find it now. :-(

BUT ... I note so far this really hasn't been a discussion, rather a complaint. I don't see any librarians discussing/suggesting a change nor in what form that might take.

I really meant "complaints" and was not suggesting there should be no policy discussions here :)

Curious Madra | 1 comments I admit, I was heated there, it’s just I am not happy with Goodreads with the way they change things. It’s not targeting at ye both, it’s just I am frustrated by Goodreads itself, that’s it. Anyways thanks for the link and discussion.
