I have the 2022 version of the paper white and it’s amazing and relatively cheap. I recommend this one if your just looking for one to read :)
I have a Kindle Fire tablet I only use to read (idk what model) and it works for be because I read a lot at night and I can change the brightness of the screen as I want (I don't think there's backlighting on regular Kindles but I might be wrong) :)
