Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): All Systems Red by Martha Wells, for #39: a book you wish you could read for the first time again
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) :
Least favorite prompt: # 49: The longest book (by pages) on your TBR list
Prompt you hope to see again: # 47: a book about a holiday that's not Christmas
Last prompt you finished: #45: a book that started out as fan fiction
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: Yes, I did!

Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): #21: a book published the year you were born; The Spy Who..."
ah you're the same age as my little sister! Happy 60th!
Great book too, I loved it.

Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): 5 A book with mythical creatures- The Shadow of the Gods
Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): 16 A book where the main character's name is in the title- The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) : 33 A book about an athlete/sport- Firekeeper's Daughter
Least favorite prompt: 27 A #BookTok recommendation and 10 A Romance with a Fat Lead. I don't like romance and I don't know anything about TikTok outside a general definition of it and the fact that I never want to be a part of it. I had to google lists to figure out what #booktok was, and I'm not sure I understand even now. That, and I don't think Social Media "Influencers" are who I want to consult to find my next book.
Prompt you hope to see again: I like the more general prompts, that don't pigeon-hole me into things I won't enjoy or have too limited possibilities. Prompts that spark a treasure hunt, like "a rabbit on the cover" are what is most fun for me.
Last prompt you finished: A book you think your best friend would like.
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: The list didn't get me as excited as previous years.
Finally, are you in for 2024? No, this next list is even worse, with forcing me to choose from books I don't want to read. I'm pretty sure they chose some of the prompts specifically to push a particular book they want to promote. I find that the years I do PopSugar, my average book rating drops a lot, and life is too short to read books I'm not enjoying. I'm heading over to ATY instead.. I can find books I prefer in any of those more-open prompts rather than struggling through genres or subjects I don't care about.

Message number of your list post (if you've got one): don't think I have one I do I can no longer find it
Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): A book you think your bestfriend would like Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend

Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) :
Least favorite prompt: a book with a rabbit on the cover
Prompt you hope to see again: a book where the main characters name is the title
Last prompt you finished: A romance with a fat lead

Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) : The Conductors (A book written during NaNoWriMo)
Least favorite prompt: A book by an author with the same initials (Popsugar CLEARLY doesn't have staff with Ws, Ps, Qs, Zs, Xs, etc. I have WW. It was hell)
Prompt you hope to see again: A banned book
Last prompt you finished: A book with song lyrics in the title
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: not particularly
Finally, are you in for 2024? Yes, but not as excited. Some of the prompts are WILD again

Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): A book you think your best friend would like - Remarkably Bright Creatures
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) : Not really... pretty much all of the books that I used for prompts were ones I was interested in reading anyway
Least favorite prompt: A book published the year you were born. I always have trouble finding books from the early 80s that I really want to read.
Prompt you hope to see again: A book with mythical creatures
Last prompt you finished: A book published the year you were born
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: It was fine.
Finally, are you in for 2024? Yes

Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): #24. A book with a rabbit on the cover. I read Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou.
Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): Spirits Abroad by Zen Cho. I read it for #1. A book you meant to read in 2022.
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?): Maria, Maria and Other Stories by Marytza K. Rubio, which I read for #15. A book with a song lyric as its title.
Least favorite prompt: #37. A book you should have read in high school because it was both a repeat of a previous prompt and because I had to cheat to fulfill it. I did the one book I hadn't read in school (college) in 2015 and had to use a book for a class I didn't take in high school to complete it (The Autobiography of Malcolm X).
Prompt you hope to see again: I like the year specific prompts like the Chinese zodiac prompts or book becoming a movie or tv show, etc.
Last prompt you finished: #23. A book with a map. I ended up reading The Poison Season by Mara Rutherford.
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: I was really cranky about it at first, it grew on me a little as the year went on, but I wouldn't want to do a challenge with so many repeat prompts and reread prompts again.
Finally, are you in for 2024? Yup!

Prompt you hope to see again: 'A book you wish you could read for the first time again'
Last prompt you finished: 'A romance with a fat lead'
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: Not sure I really noticed it!
Finally, are you in for 2024?: Thinking I might take a year off, actually - not liking the look of some of the prompts in the 2024 list!

Prompt you hope to see again: A book your friend recommended (My Brilliant Friend)
Last prompt you finished: A book you wish you could read for the first time again (Milk Blood Heat)
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: It was okay... some of the prompts were way too limiting.

Jackie wrote: "Least favorite prompt: A book written during NaNoWriMo is just an objectively bad prompt and I am prepared to die on this molehill...."
yeah I don't think many here in this group will fight you on that molehill LOL!! I was shocked that they repeated this prompt - why?? why do they think it's so great?
I suspect publishers whisper in their ear and request certain things as a way to encourage readership of certain books. Or maybe even the NaNoWriMo org itself paid for advertising of a sort.

Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?):
Modern retelling Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes
About a holiday that's not Christmas: All Hallows by Christopher Golden
Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): I had a few favorites but if I have to pick only one, it's going to be: Herc by Phoenicia Rogerson. This was for the fan fiction prompt. I don’t know if it specifically “started” as fan fiction, the way 50 shades did, but the author mentioned in her bio that she got her start writing fan fiction and that she’s always been a fan of Hercules (the historical/mythological figure) and that was close enough for me.
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) :
Tales from the Gas Station: Volume One by Jack Townsend - I read this for the self-published prompt! .
Least favorite prompt:
Celebrity Memoir
Book BASED on a movie (books with adaptations would be okay, not the other way around)
Written during NaNoWriMo (because seriously, this information is way too hard to find and the list of those known to be written during NaNoWriMo is far too short)
Any of the re-reads prompts
The fan fiction prompt (even though what I counted I loved, I think I definitely stretched the prompt)
Prompt you hope to see again:
Mythical Creatures would be a fun prompt to see again.
Last prompt you finished:
About a divorce. I would have finished this challenge back in August except the book I originally read for this didn't remotely qualify. (I read Commonwealth to finish it off!)
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?:
It was kind of disappointing at first since so many prompts were recycled, but looking back it wasn't too bad. It was easy to fit books in from my existing TBR. (Outside of a couple)
Finally, are you in for 2024?
I don't think so! I actually do really like the prompts, but finally having fully and officially completed it, I don't feel as compelled to do it again. Will enjoy just reading what I want.

Message number of your list post (if you've got one): 201
Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): A book you bought at an independent bookstore - How to Sell a Haunted House
Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): This is hard because I used two of my favorites for this year for prompts so I'm posting both!
Beyond That, the Sea - a book by a first time author

Last prompt you finished: A book set in the decade you were born - Bright Young Women
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: I kind of struggled with this theme mostly because I read more newer releases and I was born in the 70's!

Favorite prompt (and what book did you read for it?): A Book with a Map #23. I read many books that counted, but ultimately used Paradise: One Town's Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire by Lizzie Johnson
Favorite book (and what prompt was it for?): Magic Tides / Magic Claims by Ilona Andrews. The Kate Daniels Wilmington Years books were probably my favorite of the year. I didn't use them for PS, but they would both fit #5, With Mythical Creatures.
Was there a book you especially enjoyed that you never would have read if not for the Challenge? (and what prompt was it for?) :The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. I used it for #45, Started as Fan Fiction.
Least favorite prompt: #26 and #49, Shortest and Longest on your TBR. I dislike absolutes where there's only one option for a prompt. A short book and a Long Book would be better.
Prompt you hope to see again: Book with a Map! It works for so many things that I'm already reading, like non-fiction or fantasy.
Last prompt you finished: #8, Celebrity Memoir.
Did you like the "nostalgia" theme for this year?: No. It seemed like a cop-out.
Finally, are you in for 2024? Yes. Not sure how active I'll be on the forums, but I should be doing the challenge.
