The book is great. Be sure you read the second book as well. So much better than the second movie.

Excellent

Finished reading Q's Legacy by Helene Hanff, a recent find at a library used book sale. Enjoyed it as much as 84, Charing Cross Road.
Have now started a reread of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, an August read for another GR group that will fit multiple challenges.

Indie Middle Grade/YA fantasy with a strong female lead, unfortunately still a bit unpolished/rough draft feeling.

Finished this week:
* Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. September selection for another group. I originally wasn’t planning to reread it, until I realized how many different challenges it would fit. It was a fairly easy and fast read for me.
* Brian's Return by Gary Paulsen, book four in the Hatchet series.
*. Brian's Hunt by Gary Paulsen, book five in the Hatchet series. I would not recommend this one to really young or sensitive children as the second half is rather serious and graphic.
* The Exiles by Ray Bradbury. This is a short story I read a few years ago in The Illustrated Man, this time it was included in another collection of his, Bradbury Stories: 100 of His Most Celebrated Tales. Excellent timing on this one as it is about books being banned and burned, and September is Banned Books Month. Near the end it says certain authors’ books were destroyed in 2020, which is eerily prophetic as the number of challenged books increased threefold in that year in the US (particularly in some southern states).
