Nice.
Eventually, I'd like to read all of the books that won that prize.

Melissa | 1895 comments New chipmunk food!
Random 10 - Read a book featuring a gymnast (in honour of Olga Korbut's perfect 10)
X-Men - Read a book that is connected to a film (e.g. Catching Fire is turned into a film)

Amy | 327 comments For the task set #3, can the books be Christmas related or only Thanksgiving/Diwali?

message 806: by Beth (new)

Beth | 1659 comments For Task Set 3 -- is that 16 books? 4 sets of 4?

message 807: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Beth wrote: "For Task Set 3 -- is that 16 books? 4 sets of 4?"

No - I was confused too - it's just four books.

message 808: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Amy wrote: "For the task set #3, can the books be Christmas related or only Thanksgiving/Diwali?"

I would think so?

Wouldn't Thanksgiving / Diwali be fall?

message 809: by Amy (new)

Amy | 327 comments Yeah, that's a good point! I'm confused since the task mentions the cover having a Thanksgiving feast or set in Diwali but then for the books read says winter holidays. if Christmas books end up working, I can listen to a couple audiobooks to help fit :)

message 810: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3331 comments Amy wrote: "For the task set #3, can the books be Christmas related or only Thanksgiving/Diwali?"

From the Captains group

Q: Is Thanksgiving really winter?
A: It's in November, which is the month when people start legit asking about winter plans etc etc and driving me potty about Christmas, so I've included it. Hallowe'en and Bonfire/Guy Fawkes night are not winter holidays. Let's say, if it the holiday is between 15 Nov and 15 Feb it counts as winter.

Cut and paste error, it’s just 4 books

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments I'm reading The Outsider. It fits for Wheel Tower: Sins. Is there a column where I can mention that for the tracking?
I've also got a book for related to winter seasonal holidays. Just need to look for the title.

Don’t forget any books used for Wheel Towers and Chipmunks cannot count towards Page towers 😉

message 817: by Saar The Book owl (last edited Jul 02, 2023 03:52AM) (new)

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments Hm, that's a difficult choice, Louise, I'll think I'll use it for Page Towers, then, because the spots there are harder to fill for bigger books?

message 818: by Amy the book-bat (new)

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I saw that True Grit was used for one of the spell-outs, but it has had 2 films made out of it, so it would work for that chipmunk task (it also might be monochrome cover?)

Melissa | 1895 comments Amy, would you say Y is for Yesterday could fit in the Slytherin House? I'm wondering because reputation is important in Slytherin?

message 824: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Nevermind!
I see the next book on the list is for Slytherin!

X-Men - Read a book about of group of characters co-operating

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments Melissa wrote: "Amy, would you say Y is for Yesterday could fit in the Slytherin House? I'm wondering because reputation is important in Slytherin?"

I think it could work for any of the houses since the characters had traits for all of them... and the green cover is definitely Slytherin

The main character (Kinsey) shows the following characteristics:
gryffindor - bravery, daring, nerve
hufflepuff - hard work, dedication, fair play

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I have a MPG horror book coming up that will work for the wheel tower. (Grave Measures)

I have a different horror that was made into a film that can be used for chipmunks (Rosemary's Baby)

I have a MPG of action for the chipmunks (Stormbreaker word count: 47510 according to arbookfind.com)

I also have The Maze of Bones which works for chipmunks (word count: 45905 according to arbookfind.com)

I will claim those slots for this week if they are still needed.

It's true!
There are several "adventure" but not as many "action."
It reminds me to tag more of my books!

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments I have already read 11/22/63 by Stephen King twice, once in 2016 and again in May 2022. I love the book so I am considering reading it again for points for this team and, of course, it'll work for some other challenges. But are we allowed to read a book for discussion questions if we've already read it?

message 838: by Louise (new)

Thanks, I just read Carrie in February so I assume it has to be 6 months or I wouldn't mind re-reading that one either. I always get more out of a book the 2nd time, but I don't read a lot of books twice or three times but there have been some for sure.

You have a read date of Feb 6th for Carrie Soto Is Back so a re-read needs to be 6 months from this date ;)

Beth | 1659 comments I finished Make Me and I guess it's a Gryffindor book? He'd definitely the charge forward bravely and be an idiot type that is the worst kind of Gryffindor.

I mention this because my edition doesn't show page numbers on goodreads, but the previous kindle edition matches what the page count was on my device so I used that. My edition is yellow, if we need that!
