Yes, to me that fits "white plus a colour, not necessarily black"

Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

By the way this is an awesome book. Should be finished by tomorrow.

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 2241 comments What other colors do we need to finish some rainbows. I see that one is missing a color but don't know which.

I really loved this book too. I loved how unabashedly competitive she was - not always likable. I'm thinking a lot about it now that Wimbledon has been playing. I think I heard that one of the women just "fired" her dad as a coach actually. Interesting.

message 873: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments We have a bunch of rainbows we could finish. If you have the choice, go with orange, green, or purple. The one we need the least of is blue :)

I finished
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
which was so good. exactly what I needed after that slog of a tome I just finished.

Now I have no idea what to start as I just enjoyed it so much I'd rather just read more of it. haha

I literally just started Storm Echo so if stormbreaker can't be used, mine definitely can :-)

I will try and update the tracker with my books today - its been a little crazy here in the last couple of weeks

message 878: by Beth (new)

Beth | 1659 comments Finished the popular science bookHumble Pi: A Comedy of Maths Errors.

I didn't select the page placement because I forget if all the Chipmunks have to be free choice. It's 314 pages so it's in a very common range. (It's a math book -- 314 pages -- get it?)

Very clever... I bet that took some editing to get it there!
Yes, Chipmunks and Wheels have to be free choice - and 300s do seem to be the most popular page numbers!

Pretty much any book in the Hannah Swenson series by Joanne Fluke would work here for any of the tasks. I'm impatiently waiting for the newest one... I'm not too far down the list to get it from the library.

message 891: by Beth (last edited Jul 06, 2023 03:51PM) (new)

Beth | 1659 comments Ha! I finally finished The Daughter of Doctor Moreau!

I assume it's too late to go back to the discussion? Oh well, it actually fits a bunch of options, I think.

Like, The Librarian is a man turned into an orangutan by magic, and the whole book is about mixing humans and animals by science-magic, and so lots of the characters are furry and climb really well.

message 892: by Maritza (new)

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 2241 comments I can use my librarian book for something else. Should be finished by tomorrow. Working on BOM right now.

message 893: by Beth (new)

Beth | 1659 comments I mean, I've never read a book about an actual librarian that I DIDN'T enjoy. But they could use my book for something else, like Green or something?

message 894: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Well that was exciting!!
I finished updating the spreadsheet.
Our chocolate tasks aren't populating, but there are 2 there. One for Dr. Moreau! Everyone should have had more chocolate in that book :)

I used the other library book for the library task :)

Some of the 500 pagers are probably going to be used for pages and whatnot..

There are a couple books not on tt shelves. I'll message you if this is the case.

And now for the new tasks!

message 895: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments More baking!

Read a book with cake or cupcake in the text
Read a book with chocolate in the text
Read a book featuring a baker
Read a book where someone eats a sweet food item (cake, pudding, ice-cream)

Task Set: [TT 3: Save Christmas]
Top edge of quadrilateral
Right edge of quadrilateral
Bottom edge of quadrilateral
Left edge of quadrilateral

message 896: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments The Save Christmas tasks have to do with the title of books. I picked Enchanted Hunt to start us off, as T is a good one for titles. E can be more elusive... so if you see an E title, that's good :)
