You put the books on your TT shelf and you post a completion post here in the thread, detailing any possible tasks the book works for :-)

A sample completion post is at the beginning of the thread to show a little what kind of information should be in the post.

ATTENTION ATTENTION

Now that the challenge is soon going to start, information on a mini challenge has been released. This one will run over the course of the entire challenge, so there is no need to rush to finish it. But as usual, the more we can finish, the more points we can get ;-)

Towers Mini Challenge info can be found HERE .

Read it all through, carefully - I know we're all excited hehe.

If there is a specific book you've already planned to read and it works for one of the colours, perfect! Shout out, we shall keep track of the covers as you give them to us to build towers.

If you have a book that works for the mod tower, please also shout out, we will keep track.

Any book can only be used for ONE task.

Also fair warning, I'm a strict captain when it comes to cover colours ;-)

Mini tasks

For now I can read two books for MOD TOWER

Lure of the Dragon Bonus Edition (Aloha Shifters Jewels of the Heart, #1) by Anna Lowe Lure of the Dragon: Bonus Edition by Anna Lowe which is on your read shelf Eldarwen

From Karen’s read shelf I can read The Wife and the Widow by Christian White The Wife and the Widow by Christian White - I am due to read this one as I need it for another challenge I am in.

Sally906 | 1765 comments Question about children’s and middle school books

What if you can’t verify them on any of the suggested sites - can you use page numbers. I have read a couple for a recent NBRC challenge and didn’t include them as I couldn’t verify them - namely my recent famous five books reread marathon.

I’ve also read a middle school book that was over 700 pages but because at the start of each chapter there was a small picture it was classed as illustrated, it was an ARC so again wasn’t on any of the desired websites.

Are there any plan Bs for books that fall through the gaps?

I'll be participating in the Back Room BOM for May. I'm away but once I'm back I'll be definitely volunteering for DQ's in June and July... stay tuned.

Famous Five are not on any of the arbookfind pages?! uk/com/au? That seems odd...

If you can't find a word count, then the audio is still also a valid source. If that is also not available, then...

I'll check with the other mods, but I think we're going to stick to the strict line of "if it cannot be verified, it cannot be used" otherwise it will be a never-ending story.

message 62: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 1765 comments To be fair - I didn’t know arbookfind com - came with an au or uk version

Just found Five on Finniston Farm on the UK site and it had it - 36,023 words

Have saved the link.

Eldarwen | 13647 comments Mod
Oh yay, that's good! :-)

Yes, for some reason arbookfind has three different sites and they don't all have the same books listed, so you may always get lucky on one of the other sites if the one you usually use doesn't have it.

Heck yes I do! :) That's one of my favorite lyrics of her many many great lines. :) I still consider myself a newbie Swiftie even tho I've been a fan since she went full pop with 1989.

i'm also in indiana so i guess we're just all located in the midwest or australia for some reason lol i mostly read horror with some fantasy and thriller and maybe a little bit of scifi. i would say most of what i read is between 200-400 pages although i have a few longer ones on the tbr that i've been saving to try out for this challenge so we'll see if i can get into any of them

and for some reason goodreads is giving me an error when i try to add the actual link to my shelf but it's at the very bottom of my shelves and is called 'z-23-tower-teams-x'

I believe that only the captains have access to the spreadsheet so you could jot down in the comments what your book works for before you've read it if you wish.

But you'll need to find in a completion post when you've finished it so the captains know and it can be marked on the spreadsheet.

Eldarwen has put a sample of the completion post in message 4 of this thread but I'll link it below for you.

Completion Post Sample:

Bookcover (please add especially for the colour cover tasks)
Book: the edition you have actually read (for audios, use the default)
Date Read:
Pages:
--> and (!)
for any books tagged Childrens' and/or Middle Grade etc, please indicate that you have verified the wordcount
Rating: optional but could lead to interesting discussion :-)

Mini Challenge:
- which tasks/colours does the book work for?
