I just finished that one! Enjoying the series, it was very sad that Lucinda Riley passed away in 2021. Her son collaborated with her so the final book in the series could complete her vision..

My current historical romance fits Lust so that's easy!

Ah, right - those were the themes of previous Tower Teams editions:
- Thundercats: Animated and comic book series originally from the 80s - I don't know much about that so google would be your best bet there.
- Anubis: Mythology - Egyptian god, the one with the head of a jackal, the god of funerary rites and protector of graves.
- Palpatine: Star Wars - he was not a very nice guy. In fact, he wanted to rule the entire galaxy and was emperor of the Dark Side. Ruthless, manipulative, dangerous.
- Remus Lupin: Harry Potter - he was a Dark Arts teacher for a year (Prisoner of Azkaban), a friend to Harry and his friends as well as a friend to Harry's uncle. He also was a werewolf.
- Lust: The Seven Deadly Sins - pretty self explanatory
- Lord Vetinari: Discworld - he was the Patrician of the city of Ankh-Morpork in Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, head of state so to speak, very cunning, and the world in general is quite cool if completely nuts.
- Electra: The Nine Muses - she was one of the muses, prominent in tragedies.

I have really enjoyed the other books in this series and this one is good so far.. I love the concept of it being a current fiction as well as very interesting historic fiction. I admit I am wanting to cheat and read the newest book, just so I can figure out Pa Salt!!!!!!

You have a different edition of this book on your read shelf. Which one did you read?
The one you have actually read is the one that should be on your shelf because captains use the book that is on your shelf to put on the spreadsheet.
Could you please let me know and change the edition on your shelf if this red one is the one you read? Thanks! :-)

ATTENTION PLEASE
For Spell-outs, could you please add why a certain letter fits? Title and author are obvious, but captains haven't read the books, so we cannot divine the characters that are involved in the stories.
Please add name and surname for all characters that work for spell-outs.
THANK YOU! :-)

In case anyone is still wavering about reading that first BOM - the first eight chapters are good fun! :-)
Some action, a bit of snark, some world-weary sighing and lots of craziness abound. All set in a fantasy world. With a detailed map at the start of the book.

I requested it via Libby but my library has an estimated 3wk wait, so I'm not sure I will be able to get it in time. :/
Also - I'm not sure I understand all the BOM reading/participation/discussion/DQs etc. So I might have to just observe for a month and see how it all works. lol

I’ve been going back and forth about whether I want to read it! My library has the ebook but not the audio, and I’m dreadfully slow usually if I don’t have the audio (and it’s a long book)! But maybe I’ll still give it a try!

According to Sammy, who does a looot of audio, the audio for this particular book is not especially well done.
The paperback reads rather well, I find. And you know I am not the quickest reader either! :-)

Ah you get the hang of it really quickly.
Basically, there are separate threads where you can nominate books for each month - one adult and one themed (themes vary from month to month). Then they go on a poll, people vote, and the winner is read. But I think that part was clear :-)
The way it works from there is that the book is read as a group and that, depending on length of the book, there will be between 4-6 days of questions to discuss the book. Mods split the book into equal parts.
Each day a different person asks the discussion questions (DQ) for that particular part/section of the book and the other people who are reading along answer them. Sometimes more talk ensues, sometimes people stick to just answering the questions. And that's basically it.
If the randomiser selects you to write DQ, you think up ~5 questions about the chapters in that particular section.
As for the points: participating in the discussion, that is reading the book and answering at least 3 days of the DQ, will grant the team 20 points. Writing DQs (and of course reading the book and answering the other DQs) will grant 40 points.

No, there's no limit on the amount of people in a team reading a BOM.
There is a limit on the DQs per BOM, which is limited to one person per team.

After a nightmare of a flight where I could barely read without being interrupted by screaming toddlers or rude crew, I'm back home in London! Which means I can finally get back to my copies of Samantha Shannon. I'm going to wait to read them until the poll for the next BOMs are over, though - A Day of Fallen Night is an option for one of them.
So far, I'm about 25% through Shards of Earth. It's pretty fascinating so far, and kinda complex, and the world-building is amazing. Other than that, I just looked through the remaining Mod Towers books. I've shortlisted one, The Wind in the Willows which Ashley has read. Other than that, let's see.

I'm listening to the audiobook and it isn't the worst I've ever heard but it isn't great either. :/

And I assume that with the page count the word count is acceptable, but have you checked? Since the book is MPG Middle Grade and Childrens.
