how significant does the character have to be to be used for letters for the Spell out? Can it be a pet if pet plays a significant part in the story?

Well there's a question. With numbers it's usually that you'd go with the letter the number starts with but with punctuation.. Let me check and I'll get back to you on that.


The characters need to have meaning to the story and dialogue for them to count towards the spell-out so pets are unfortunately not going to work, even if they play a significant part.

Ignore the punctuation and use whichever letter comes first in the title after the punctuation for the spell-out :-)
So N in both these cases.

I'm starting The Luminaries today - it's 834 pages. I came across it in a charity shop and got it for less than a fourth of the retail price and HAD to get it.
