Hello

Putting this in "Looking for a project" as there is a book to add BUT the ISBN is already allocated on Goodreads to another book, which I can demonstrate is in error. I own the book, and both my copy and AND Amazon say the details I'm giving are correct.

I have searched and searched for the book in error - I don't think it exists and is a mis-entry.

Would really appreciate the clean-up, I want to score the book and then get it out to a charity shop :-)

According to Worldcat, there is a book on Picasso by Nathaniel Harris with this ISBN: https://www.worldcat.org/nl/title/367...

It sometimes happens that two very different books are (erroneously) given the same ISBN. It has probably happened in this case, since Worldcat lists two slightly different ISBNs for the Picasso book (ending 6660 and 6066) : 9781858136660, 9781858136066, 1858136660 and 1858136067.

In cases like these, an alternative edition is created with a reference to the other book (leaving that for someone else). The request does belong in the Adding New Books folder (if the salad book is not yet in the system). The Looking for a Project folder is for time-consuming projects involving f.e. cleaning up a particular author's page.

Interestingly, you don't list the ISBN on your request but an ASIN. We don't use ASINs for print books.

So what do want me to do Lethe? Post under Add New Book? I mean I put the Amazon link on there already which previous Librarians have insisted on.

If you click on the small 'edit' link near the topic title, you can move the thread to the Adding New Books folder (desktop only). You can also add [OPEN] to the topic title and explain that a new book needs to be created which has the same ISBNs as the existing Picasso book.

Hi - raised a new entry in the Add book area earlier today - I did mention out was a duplicate ISBN.
