Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon discussion

We always begin every readathon with an hour long reading sprint. So, grab your first book (or pull up your first audiobook if this is too early an hour to put your eyes to work just yet), and let's get this readathon started. On your marks ... Get set ... Go!

I am starting with an audiobook, a tradition I've kept for many years of Dewey's readathons. This time I am listening to The Mummy Case, by Elizabeth Peters, book 3 of a series about an upper middle class lady and her husband, both Egyptian archaeology enthusiasts in the Victorian era. I started it last night and it's pretty good so far.

I'm starting out with THE PAINTED WALL by Micheal Bedard , a short book of chinese magical folktales . Only 109 pages . I will finish it before the Readathon is over .

Ended on pg 134 in . Read 94 pgs

I read another 35 pages of The Last Astronaut.

It‘s 3pm for me now and I already started reading at 9am, when I got up. I am meeting a friend and I will be off now for easily the next six hours, dinner included. I will see you all later!

I read 28 pages.

I read 81 pages in The Book of Goose this sprint. I am not loving it, so will switch to something else for a while.

I'm starting with The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes. I read 60 pages in the first sprint.

This is a fun series! I think I'm on Book 13.

I started The Godfather audio earlier this week and am continuing today for a bit. made an hour progress on it the first hour

started 20 minutes late so I went and extra 20. Read 81 pages of my current book

I love it too. I've read them all up to this one. It took my library a moment to get this one in stock, but I checked it out as soon as I could.

So I started a bit late on this sprint (7:27 a.m. CST) and the kiddo had pictures she wanted to show me a few minutes in, but overall I read for 26 minutes during the sprint and finished 20 pages in

Looks like some good starts.
I started with Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl. Not his best work. Still ratjer enjoyable second half the book. I will finish the book tonight.
