For those of you who have done a read-a-thon for the this group in the past, this should look familiar. If you're new to this, allow us to explain!

What do I have to do to participate?
If you are interested in participating and can commit to actively engaging in the read-a-thon, then please sign up in the comments below. We have chosen the categories so this group activity is fair and fun for readers of all speeds.

Please only sign up if you can commit to checking in with your team (on Goodreads) at least 5 times during the April 8-16 schedule.

How many teams will there be?
It will greatly depend on how many people sign up and how much they think they will be able to read. We are targeting 8-10 people per group.

QUESTIONNAIRE (This helps us sort teams!)
1. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon?
2. Which time zone do you live in?
3. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
4. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc. -- We aim to have two captains per team so you can share the responsibility.)

message 2: by Sue (new)

Sue S | 555 comments 1. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon? Pretty much available most of the time - 4-5 books
2. Which time zone do you live in? UTC+8 (Western Australia)
3. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon? Yes
4. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? Yes, if required

message 3: by °~Amy~° (new)

°~Amy~° (amybooksit) I will join but my reading speed will be slow (maybe 3 or 4 short books). We recently took in my 5 month old nephew and I haven't quite adjusted to his schedule yet. I can however promise to check in to the group several times a day. Unfortunately, I won't be able to be a team leader this time around.
I am in EST.

Aimee (pebbles320) 1. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon?
No major plans, and Monday is a national holiday in the UK so I should get a lot of reading done then! I usually manage 6-7 books during a readathon and I should be able to equal or slightly exceed that.

Kendra | 2097 comments 1. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon?
I'm not sure about availability - Easter + various choir practices/preformances/social events mean I'll be busy, but as I general take a book everywhere and can fit in reading whenever I get a spare moment, I'll probably still be able to finish my 9 or 10 books.

2. Which time zone do you live in?
Central Standard

3. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
I'll do my best.

4. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc. -- We aim to have two captains per team so you can share the responsibility.)
