I hope your week is going well and that you’re making solid progress in your reading goals! I thought we could check in on those goals as we move into the second half of the event.

A few questions for you:
What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
What is your favorite book so far?
How's your team and individual challenges going?
What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?

Now is a great time to update your threads - The ATY Community Spreadsheet and The Individual Challenge!

The holiday weekend wasn't as much of a distraction as I thought it would be, but returning to work following the holiday weekend definitely was. My Tuesday was so busy all I had time for was to squeeze in the chapter of a book that a friend and I were planning to discuss that night.

What is your favorite book so far?
I think it's going to end up being The Sentence, which I'm currently reading! But I've enjoyed all the books I've read so far, which is nice.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
Our team challenge seems to be going well! We have two completed outfit and we're just one book away from three more. I'm not doing an individual challenge.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
I've read 512 pages, which is great! I'm especially pleased that the readathon encouraged me to spend all day Saturday reading My Name Is Lucy Barton, because I think it was a great book to read all in one go and I got more out of it than I would have just reading a chapter or two at a time.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Once I finish The Sentence, I think I'll be caught back up with my yearly challenge, which was my main goal. And I think it's likely that I'll have time to finish at least one more book, maybe even two?

Chrissy | 1138 comments I've been so tired this week that I have barely managed to read at all before falling asleep! At least I'm getting in at least an hour a day of audiobook on my commute. Hopefully the weekend will provide a bit more time to finish out the books I have going: Conjure Women and The Space Between Worlds.

It's been a relatively good week for me to have a readathon since I'm actually off work for the majority. The main challenge is that I started the week in the middle of a longer, kind of dense (but very good!) book, so that really slowed me down.

What is your favorite book so far?
I've only finished 2 so far and they were radically different so it doesn't really feel fair to choose a favourite.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
Good so far!

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
Finishing off The Winners

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Finish at least one (but ideally two) more books!

This week has been very frustrating as far as life and reading go. At work, we are coming into testing season so everyone is on edge and asking for more after hours work. Home has been crazy which is most likely because I have been working late each night. Reading is frustrating since I am so distracted with life, I am unable to concentrate on the books.

What is your favorite book so far?
Look Alive Twenty-Five I needed light and fun.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
We are doing well. Everyone else seems to be having a great week or I am just handling mine badly, not sure which.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
I have read or listed to four books.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
I am hoping to get in two more audios and two more eye read books, but we will see.

Sherri Harris | 1501 comments What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon? I was busy & out of town at the beginning so I didn't read much.
What is your favorite book so far? Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. This is the third time I read it.
How's your team and individual challenges going? Slower than I thought because I decided to just focus on Team of Rivals & that is a long book.
What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon? I finished Team of Rivals. Do you see a theme here?
What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon? Finish 2 more books.

What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
I thought my weekdays would be pretty open but I ended up going to look at new cars in a city 40 miles away. Then we bought the car (good!) and just went to pick it up. Traveling this weekend but hope to get pages anyway.

What is your favorite book so far?
The Outcast Dead (Ruth Galloway #6) I really like the character of Ruth.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
Both are going well.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
I've finished 5 books.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Finish Loitering With Intent on audio. Read Death on the Menu at least for pages. Not sure I can finish it.

It's been an even busier work week than I was expecting. And I've been hit with the double edged sword that is spring: I *love* being outdoors in the warmth but my immune system is under the belief that it would be better to kill me than accept the existence of pollen. Sigh.

Easter kept me really busy. Kiddo has kept me running this week, so I've had some time to read, but I've been exhausted when those moments arrive.

What is your favorite book so far? Really glad my copy of Waco: David Koresh, the Branch Davidians, and A Legacy of Rage finally came in and it's been interesting.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
My individual challenge was just to get in some reading, so I've been able to do that.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon? Just little bits of reading here and there, but that's what I was hoping for.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon? Just to try to get in a few more spots of reading time this weekend.
