Hi Jibril! I've looked at that one a few times, but never read it. It's funny, I read three different descriptions and they're entirely different, sound like three different books! I see lots of one star reviews, lots of five star reviews, and a bunch of "what did I just read?!" (which is intriguing). Do you like it?
The descriptions remind me a bit of The Secret History or The Virgin Suicides (both read long ago), or maybe Ninth House (Bardugo).

Recently finished The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: A New History of their Lost World. If you are into dinosaurs and the adventures of dinosaur hunters, I think you'd like this book! It's not something I'd normally pick out, but it was recommended by a friend... who kept asking if I'd read it so we could talk about it. I started it a while ago and wasn't really getting into it, but recently I had a long drive to make, so I turned it on. I find that audiobooks really make time in the car go quickly! I sped up the narration (a nice feature of audiobook apps like Audible), and realized I enjoyed the book more at a faster pace.
Turns out I finished this one just in time for my friend to have finished author Stephen Brusatte's next book, The Rise and Reign of the Mammals: A New History, from the Shadow of the Dinosaurs to Us. Guess I'll be reading that one, too!
Have you gotten some rest since the end of the semester? What have you been reading?

I started a few books over the summer, but am currently reading Weyward by Emilia Hart.
From Goodreads, "Weaving together the stories of three extraordinary women across five centuries, Emilia Hart's Weyward is an enthralling novel of female resilience and the transformative power of the natural world."
I'd heard a lot of good things about it, but the book opens with a heavy scene about a woman trying to leave a domestic abuse situation that was a little hard to get through. It wasn't graphic, just heavy, and the catalyst for her story, which takes a different direction from there. I've read about 1/3 now and am finding it hard to put down!
