May is our Globe-Trotting Adventure Group Read.

Do you like books with tons of action set in multiple countries around the world? This month we'll be armchair travelers along with the characters.

Other group read guidelines still apply.

Here are some other things to consider when you make your nomination:

1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Goodreads link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You can view the list of past reads here:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

5. Books must be either standalone or first in a series (or they may be later in a series if constructed to be read as a standalone).
6. Authors are asked not to nominate their own books or solicit nominations from members.

The poll will go up on April 25th.

Rebecca Sweat | 1 comments My two recommendations are the first books in their respective series.

Sandstorm by James Rollins
- A Fringe science race against time adventure that follows ancient paths through history to save the world from an ancient phenomenon.

The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry
- pulled out retirement to help a friend, Cotton Malone follows clues left behind to the last treasure hold of the Knights Templar.

Would love to read this one as well, though it was already a group read :-( (in the list under Ts)

Okay, are we restricted to 1st in a series or may I simply nominate a later Gray Man novel?

Jamie Zaccaria | 83 comments I'd like to nominate The Last Odyssey by James Rollins.

The Last Odyssey (Sigma Force #15) by James Rollins

Kanishka Sarkar | 22 comments I would like to nominate The Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth The Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth

Description
The suicide of an elderly German Jew explodes into revelation after revelation: a Mafia-like organization called Odessa, a real-life fugitive known at the "Butcher of Riga", a young German journalist turned obsessed avenger...and ultimately, of a brilliant, ruthless plot to reestablish the worldwide power of SS mass murders and to carry out Hitler's chilling "Final Solution."

BLESK | 5 comments The Odessa File is a great book and great movie. But I would like to nominate City of War by Neil Russell.

message 12: by Georgann (new)

Georgann | 49 comments @Rebecca and @Jamie: My DH and I just read and gave five stars to Rollins Sigma File #16 Kingdom of Bones (Sigma Force, #16) by James Rollins Kingdom of Bones. We both added Sandstorm (Sigma Force, #1) by James Rollins Sandstorm to our TBR piles! And since we hadn't read any of the previous books in the series, I would think that The Last Odyssey could also be read as a standalone, even tho it is #15
