My second poetry book, lambskin, is fairly dark. It's centred around an emotionally abusive relationship and the journey out of the darkness.

Sophia Drake | 35 comments The Age of Darkness is an action packed novel full of twists and turns that leave you on the edge of your seat. The characters are rounded and complex without subtracting from the momentum of the plot.

There are no sex scenes but there is one kiss.
The violence is very minimum as the characters typically use their powers and not their fists/weapons
There is no profanity, but there are words such as heck, dang, crap, etc.

Romance sub-plot: The MMC and the FMC have long been friends since kindergarten and Wren doesn’t want that to come to an awkward end by confessing her feeling, so she keeps it to herself and tries to ignore it. The romance does not happen unrealistically or lurch the readers forward with it, as I have read that far too often and it is not a favorite for me.

Tropes-
•Slow burn
•Found Family
•Redemption
•He confesses
•Quest
•Morally Gray Mentor

I know some of these aren’t actual tropes, lol

Age of Darkness kicks off the Night Hour trilogy and I am in search of more readers and reviewers so I can get it into people’s hands. 🙌

K.R. Hartley | 4 comments I'm currently looking for readers to whom I can ship a physical paperback in exchange for a Day 1 Review on Amazon.com. The release date for this title is October 31st, so the review should be completed by November 6th.

The title of the book is Shards, by Robert James Cross. Here is a book trailer and a synopsis:

Synopsis:
Shards follows the journey of a Vietnam War veteran as he returns home to the United States, only to find himself entangled in a supernatural battle against an otherworldly group of prostitutes in the sin and heat of Las Vegas. ARCs will be e-mailed out later this week/early next week with links for downloads (booksirens, bookfunnel, booksprout, etc and sent directly to you)

Summary:
THE ART of JOB HUNTING is Anastasia Helena Fenald's second poetry collection, a classic one-two punch of humorous satire and blunt truth. While taking inspiration from job applications, skill assessments, and interview questions, each poem delivers wit and sarcasm sprinkled with plenty of uncomfortable (read: honest) vulnerability. The Art of Job Hunting is for anyone living paycheck to paycheck, plotting to cannibalize the rich, and still hopeful enough to think they have a chance against nepo babies.

Weary Traveler by S.R. De Costa
Weary Traveler

A great battle is being fought between good and evil, in the world and the unseen realm. But where do we stand? How are we able to fight with a supernatural being who is not visible? This book gives a perspective on our daily spiritual combat. It is set on the exotic island of Zanzibar which attracts droves of tourists from around the world every year. The stunning, white-sand beaches, the bright blue and turquoise waters, and the warm tropical weather are all pleasing to the eye and rejuvenating for the soul. But mostly unbeknownst to the people who visit, is what the locals have known for ages…there are supernatural forces at play on the island. Will one priest, pulled out of his comfort zone in the U.S., be able to help fight this battle and get the people out of the clutches of the Prince of Darkness? Can humanity win this warfare?
