message 2: by Tilly (new)

Tilly B♡ I read one book at a time almost always

message 3: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 6 comments I read around 2-3 books at a time but usually take a long break from one of them.

message 4: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine I have multiple books going at once!

message 5: by Reed (new)

Reed (reedster6) | 105 comments One book at a time like I tell my friends to do

message 6: by Carla (new)

Carla (carlasanzo) | 91 comments I literally have always wanted to ask how anyone can read more than one book at a time until I did it. I can't say I am a fan but I didn't hate it...

Reading a book is like watching a movie in my mind to me, so I prefer one at a time so that I can truly enjoy it and be in the moment.

message 7: by angeline (new)

angeline (ramblingdaydreams) For some reason I read a physical book and an e-book at the same time. I don't know why lmao

message 8: by Monica (new)

Monica | 179 comments Always multiple books! @Angeline, Yes! I usually read a physical book at home and then e-book for work/travel.

✨ tazannah - not accepting friend requests ✨ (tazannahgresheld) | 212 comments I normally read one book at a time, unless it’s for school or I can’t resist. But 98% of the time: one book.

I always read the physical copy, but for some reason, I get a copy of the book online on Libby, just in case I leave my book at home if I’m at school or someplace else, which seldom happens. But, it IS quite useful when searching quotes up and stuff :)))

message 10: by Elanna (new)

Elanna | 75 comments A physical book on my bedside table, something I prefer to read at night, on paper. Think big book, notes, need to go back and forth. Think Infinite Jest, Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid.

A book I am studying, with note-taking and all, on my desk.

An audiobook for daytime. Something that requires attention.

An audiobook for bed, after switching off the light. Something poetic and long and already many times read. Think Proust or Joyce or Dante.

A thriller or sci-fi for when I seriously need brain-chewingum.

A book I shouldn't be adding in right now but I made the mistake of opening and now I am hooked.

message 11: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine @Elanna lol, that last one made me chuckle!

message 12: by KAR (new)

KAR | 8 comments If I start a book, I don't put it down until I finish so one at a time for me! But I do have like 30 books I started and never finished, so....

message 13: by marijke (new)

marijke i only read fiction and non fiction at the same time, so max 2 books at the time. unless i have a dnf un my hand, it takes a while to admit that to myself

message 14: by Elanna (new)

Elanna | 75 comments @Madeleine you feel the pain don't you :D my last mistake was The Sparrow

message 15: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 342 comments I usually have four going at once: a nonfiction, an ebook, an audiobook, and a fiction print book.

message 16: by Melliott (new)

Melliott (goodreadscommelliott) | 510 comments Occasionally, but as a rule I like to focus on one. Sometimes I start reading something long, literary, and heavy in subject, so I pick out something else frivolous and short and give myself breaks from the one to lighten up with the other.

message 17: by Donne (new)

Donne | 19 comments Minnette wrote: "Am I the only one that reads more than one book at a time?"

Lol, I read two at a time. I read ebooks at night before going to sleep and listen to audiobooks in the morning when I exercise/workout.

message 18: by Abbie (new)

Abbie | 244 comments I've mainly turned to audiobooks the last couple years.
