Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon discussion

Facing the marathon, what do you think will be your best hours of reading? When do you read the most? I think my time will be at night, when my daughters and my husband go to sleep! Also now, when my kids are taking a nap haha

I think the early evening will be my best reading hours. The sun is still up and I not to exhausted yet and all other things I want to get to should be completed by that point.

I always do best after about 10pm, despite being tired from being up all day first. On non-readathon days I do my best reading from about midnight til 3am or so.

Yes Jaime! Once others on my apartment start settling about 8 or 9pm, I can get reading done. I read sometimes until 1 or 2--unless reading madness hits--then I read later.

Oh, good question! Probably mid-morning through early afternoon, usually. After that, I get distracted by needing breaks for food and other stuff like that.

I've started late (its 10 am my time) but I find the late morning/early afternoon is one of my favorite times to read! I've had enough time to make myself a yummy breakfast, big cup of tea, and I can't wait to spend the next few hours curled up and reading (bonus: its raining here which makes it even more cozy)

For me it's early morning . On my days off , making progress on some book is usually my first chore of the day .

My main reading is usually late afternoon and evening for these read-a-thons. My brain is slower in the morning and not as used to reading. I'm having fun audio still which is usually how I start out

I also like to read in the afternoon and evening time. It is supposed to be really nice out today (70's and sunny) so I am excited to go outside and read this afternoon.

The last couple hours have been quiet in my house and perfect reading time. However, I am sure I can find a place in the house where I can hide and read throughout the day.

I'll also be reading outside this afternoon. I'm getting in some audiobook time this morning, but I'll probably read more in late afternoon/evening

I've gotten a good solid two hours of reading in, but now I think it's time for a nap. My best reading is usually after 10 PM.

On most days I read at night in bed. Sometimes 2 hours pass and I think ugggg... I have to get some sleep!

I love beginning the day with an hour or two of reading if I have the time. I always begin the readathon with the first sprint, even though it's very early for me.

My most successful time to read on weekends is the evenings once my daughter has settled into bed for the night. I will try to read throughout the day for the read-a-thon, but even though we have nothing planned for today besides reading, life has a way of popping in. My daughter is a young teen and she understands mom is taking some time to read, but she also still craves my attention and I give her attention when she wants it.
