When I was girl we had this oversized Persian mix named Rusty. He was my reading buddy. I would be lying on my back on my bed reading with the book up in the air with the pages facing me. Rusty would find my stomach a comfortable resting place. We would yummy times like that together.
This was fierce protector of his property who made sure that all comers of all species met his requirements or his fight. But once inside, he was our gentleman cat.

Cats make the best lap pets, don't they?

Sounds like a perfect Read-a-Thon friend! I love the name Molly.

He sounds like quite the character! So nice to have such a warm childhood memory of him.

She is... :)

Haha! There is the idea of owning a cat and then what they are really like! I love crazy cats!

I love the pics!

Goose sounds like a great reading partner! Mutts make the best pets!

I am a kitten rescuer so in a couple weeks I'll have half a dozen or more small fluffballs, but for now I just have my 8 cats-My boys Sasha, Simon, Julien and Oskar, and my girls Catarina, Glorietta, Bailey and Valentina. They love that I am home all day for readathons, but if I don't switch to audiobooks frequently enough they start threatening to bite the corners of my book's pages. Glorietta especially likes me to pause from reading print books so I can throw her ball, a sparkly pom-pom ball she fetches and brings back a few times before letting me go back to my books.

Wow! That is a lot of cats! Do you always keep some of the rescues?

Granddogs! Gotta love em!

It is hard work to be a reading support cat. He deserves a little snack.

See you at the next 'thon!

I don't keep them very often. My youngest 2 were deemed 'semi-feral' and 'unadoptable' because they didn't like the lady evaluating them, which made me mad, especially when she wanted to return them to the feral colony they were born in. So for now I'm keeping them. They are playful, friendly and like attention and pets, they just hate being picked up or snuggled without consent. Most years I adopt out every kitten I raise.

What is your pet's name and what is the best things about him/her?
I have a crackhead dog named Bailey. She is doberman and Belguim malinois. She is very intense, but loves the beach and playing with other dogs. She chases birds flying at the beach and is a complete lunatic. So much fun!
I have a hammock outside I like to read in and she lays under me in the shade, even though she is too big!
