i second the six of crows recommendation!! im re-reading the grishaverse series and just got to soc (which you can read without having read the prior trilogy, that's how i read it the first time) and i can't recommend it enough

Fantasy: The Lies of Locke Lamora, A Cruel Prince, Lumaries, The Night Circus. Contemporary: I wanna be where you are, Letters to the Dead. Aside from that, I cannot initiate a post on this group for some reason, so... can anyone recommend a book that gives a magic girl anime vibe?
