message 2: by Tayjah (new)

Tayjah Never read any of her books and never will

Sue Miz (suereads2030) | 9 comments not the best
not the worst
but they put you in a heartfelt mood with new approaches
so my advice
don't listen to anyone
ready couple of her books and form your own opinion
her books are not escapism just to be clear
they are a punch in the face reality
not for teens or those who have a pleasant life

message 4: by Lily (new)

Lily Not a fan personally, up to you to make your own opinion tho

message 5: by Cee (new)

Cee (ceenamonroll) | 10 comments I think her writing is okay. I read her books long ago, and I remember not being a fan of most of them. She's overhyped by my friends.

message 6: by Annette (new)

Annette Hernandez | 202 comments Not a fan of her books, they are not great and they are many authors more deserving of the hype than hers, but they are also not as bad as Divergent... so

message 7: by Liliana (new)

Liliana Suzanna Zamudio | 5 comments I read one and it felt like reading a shitty fan fiction

message 8: by Elle (new)

Elle Betz | 24 comments I've only read Verity, and it was ok. I skipped over a couple of pages here and there as it was too graphic for me. Not gore-wise, but as a new mom with an infant I couldn't handle her descriptions of a child's death.

message 9: by Zara (new)

Zara Baig | 3 comments I’ve never read any of her books

message 10: by Sayantika (new)

Sayantika Chatterjee (sayantikachatterjee) | 3 comments Her books have great stories but that shouldn't consider as Romance books. Because her books are quite traumatizing. Tbh now i'm really scared to read her books.

♥ava♥ (material_girl) | 19 comments I've read a couple and I thought they were pretty good. Layla was kind of disturbing, but I still enjoyed it.

message 12: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (nicky_245) | 1 comments Her books aren't that bad , you really enjoy it while u read it but after u start remembering the book again u just change ur mind ,tbh they remind me of wattpad stories ,they are a quick read but not really good.

message 13: by Eva (new)

Eva Rose | 13 comments Colleen Hoover's book are just an easy read, neither perfect nor bad though. The books most of the times are kinda dark or mentioning abuse, death, "grey" characters etc so that means that not many people wants to read this kind of stories/themes.
I didn't find them traumatizing/dark or anything but I have read way worse books when it comes to violence or the portrayal of characters.
Having said that, everyone has the right to read whatever they want when it comes to books.

message 14: by jasmin (new)

jasmin | 11 comments I like her stories but she definitely romanticizes toxic/abusive relationships. I feel like u should read one of her books first then choose ur own opinion :)

message 15: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah (omgitsrebekah) | 16 comments i tried reading Regretting You. could NOT get into it. i wanna try reading verity but idk

me personally there was too much sex in verity... but you should try reading it so we can chat lol

message 17: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina Newlon (srngirl) | 5 comments They're ok to a certain extent. I only like two of them and the others are the same Cliche issues with relationship issues. Other than that, I give her a 4.5 star rating overall.

message 18: by Sydney (new)

Sydney I don't think they're as bad as what a lot of people say, somethings they're quite easy to get into and read which is fun

message 19: by Lexi (new)

Lexi (lexi_gambrill) | 16 comments After reading this entire thread, I feel comfort in knowing that giving up on her books was okay. I literally ready all her stand alone novels and fell in love with a few of them. My favorite of hers though is “All your perfects.” That book seems to be the only book that she got right to me. Once I finished that book, everything after that was just dull or uneventful. Now that she has blown up on booktok, I tend to avoid her altogether. No disrespect or anything but I just don’t fully trust individuals in that community…🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ (Sorry)…

message 20: by Mackenzie (new)

Mackenzie (onlymack) | 45 comments LI’ve only read one book it was November 9. It was okay but it felt like it was written by a 15 year old and not an adult

message 21: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Deyo | 9 comments looooove ❤❤❤

✯¸.•✿ LÌV ✿•.¸✯ | 7 comments I only read one of her books but it was amazing

message 23: by Emma Sofía (new)

Emma Sofía I read like a third of one of her books and said: Not for me. But if anyone else likes her, i can understand why. I would not recommend her for younger teens though.

message 24: by Salma (new)

Salma | 2 comments Heck no. Terrible and childish writing. Very toxic relationships in her so called romance books. She bascially romanticizes toxic relationships A LOT. She lets the FMC end up with the MMC despite the toxic behaviour they portray. I believe her books are "women's fiction", not romance at all. For instance, It ends with us is great for raising awareness to people in toxic/abusive relationships, but should never be called a romance. This isn't something that should be considered a romance. And the "smut" she writes is so disgusting.

message 25: by Stella (new)

Stella Johansson | 3 comments I’ve only read iewu and I liked it but romance isn’t really my absolute favorite genre so I don’t think I will read so many mor of her books😗

message 26: by archika (new)

archika (archika) I was trying to read one of her other books and realised all of her books are just focused on family and relationship issues which is eh not intersting

message 27: by Gosia (new)

Gosia Głuszkowska | 1 comments She's great author for begging of reading journey. These are not the best books, they may be toxic at times but her books are fun and they're hard to put away. I don't think no one should be shamed for reading her books but I also think that at some point everyone leave Hoover and move on to different, maybe better authors

message 28: by Sofie (new)

Sofie (sofielikesbooks) | 83 comments okay if you like her type of writing and genre sure, go ahead you can like it BUT ITS JUST NOT FOR ME. I will never be someone who reads her books and enjoys them (Matter a fact scratch that im probably never going to read one of them) but if you like her books go off and live your life

Lexi ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ Her writing style is ok…. I read her book verity, and that’s the only book I have read by hers. Idk if I’ll read more of her books in the future….
