For me, the classic book Dracula would be top of the list.
I'd also not want to be in the world of Dead of Night with a zombie infection rapidly spreading.

I'm not sure... I think I generally wouldn't want to live in a horror book, but I if I had to choose I wouldn't want to be in any kind of pandemic/virus/zombie universe.
I also definitely wouldn't want to be a teenager in King's Derry or SGJ's Proofrock.

Anything with "Human Monsters". I'd rather take my chances with the Supernatural.

I'm currently reading Dead of Night and I agree, it's not a world I would want to be trapped in.

Mary ♥ | 87 comments Anything post-apocalyptic. I don’t think I’d fair well in a zombie outbreak/disease epidemic/extreme natural disasters.

I don’t even like camping— try throw me in a setting where I have to forage, build shelter, discarding comforts, navigating new world politics… which would be possibly revert to colonialism. No thanks! I’m that character the main ones reminisce about at the end of the book.

LTJ (ltj81) | 2000 comments I'd say anything to do with demons or demon possessions...

I'm with you on that one!

Carl Moon Probably Stephen King's "The Stand". The odds aren't in ones favour in that one.

Tea&Biscuits | 4 comments The Troop by Nick Cutter. Triggered just thinking about it. Loved the book. I kinda like being pushed to limits. With germaphobia, OCD and a healthy fear of parasites, it was kind of exposure Theropy for me.

Same, and even if you're not on the island where the main setting of the book is, it's frightening to even think that it could spread to the rest of the world. It doesn't help that the parasite was released intentionally just to see what happens (if I remember the plot correctly)

I'd probably lie down and wait for death

Marie | 4030 comments This is a cool thread! :) I need to think about this for a minute - there are probably a lot of them I would not want to be trapped inside of! lol

I agree with Wendy - I wouldn't want to be in trapped in Dracula! :)

Wouldn't want to be trapped in any book that had zombie apocalypses, rat infestations, sharks, or cannibals.

This is a very good answer!

Continuing with that theme, I also wouldn't want to live in Derry, Maine.

Adrienne L All of them, but to name a particular book, I would say The Forgotten Island. I just can't with the heat and and the jungle and the possible (view spoiler).

That was a great book! I agree with you - I don't think I could handle it either. lol

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments Safe to say, any horror novel would be a no-go; so I'll go a different different direction. I would not want to find myself trapped in the world of Infinite Jest (in fact, I would not want to be trapped inside Wallace's mind at all). I'D probably contemplate suicide if that happened.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) Is there a horror book that anyone would WANT to be trapped in?

K. D. (bookaholic_kd) | 7 comments I wouldn’t want to be trapped in any horror situation but I’d definitely take my chances with anything supernatural. What other humans are capable of is what scares me.
