I’ve started. The thees, thows, and thys are killing me, lol. I like the story so far, though. I feel sorry for Maia. He wasn’t properly trained for the position he’s in now. I don’t know if I trust his cousin.
I'm really enjoying the story. I love Maia. He's trying so hard to do the right thing all the time...But the Court will always win.
Not going to lie...these names are confusing and half the time I have no idea who is who, lol.

I loved this book. There was a lot going on, but it was kind of sweet still. Maia was so innocent, but not in a stupid sort of way, lol. More in a he just wants to be a good person sort of way. I would read more of this series when they come out.

I agree with you that the language is rough to get through. I do feel sorry for Maia. he wasn't prepared for the role he finds himself in. Not really sure about the cousin.

The language does get better. Either they dropped it by the end of the book or I got used to it...I'm not sure which, lol.

It did make me crazy. I did end up liking the story. I thought it was s trusted sweet. I did feel sorry that someone that Maia trusted betrayed him.

Description:The youngest, half-goblin son of the Emperor has lived his entire life in exile, distant from the Imperial Court and the deadly intrigue that suffuses it. But when his father and three sons in line for the throne are killed in an "accident," he has no choice but to take his place as the only surviving rightful heir.
Entirely unschooled in the art of court politics, he has no friends, no advisors, and the sure knowledge that whoever assassinated his father and brothers could make an attempt on his life at any moment.
Surrounded by sycophants eager to curry favor with the naïve new emperor, and overwhelmed by the burdens of his new life, he can trust nobody. Amid the swirl of plots to depose him, offers of arranged marriages, and the specter of the unknown conspirators who lurk in the shadows, he must quickly adjust to life as the Goblin Emperor. All the while, he is alone, and trying to find even a single friend... and hoping for the possibility of romance, yet also vigilant against the unseen enemies that threaten him, lest he lose his throne – or his life.
