hey! i didnt really like taylor until a few months ago when i started listening to her midnights album. I found out that i absolutely loved her music and i havent been able to stop listening since... also so excited for speak now taylors version!!!

i can explain the folklore love triangle!! if that’s what u were asking! so basically in folklore there’s songs called betty, cardigan and august! cardigan is from the point of view of a girl named betty, basically talking about the guy she used to date and how he left her and cheated on her, which you can tell from the lyric “chase two girls, lose the one” in the end of the song you can tell that the guy eventually came back to her. in the song “betty” it’s from the point of view of james, the guy betty used to date! his song is about how he regrets cheating on betty and he wants to make it up to her and how it was “just a summer thing”, next is the song “august” which is about a girl named augustine/august and she is the girl james cheated on betty with. her song is basically about how she knew he wasn’t hers but she wanted him anyway and she will always remember the summer they had together even though james went back to betty in the end. hope that makes sense!

after Kim Kardashian leaked a phone call between Kayne and Taylor (she put it way out of context and made it seem like Kayne was asking Taylor for approval of his song lyrics) the whole internet kinda exploded and started calling Taylor a snake. A lot of her ‘friends’ joined in instead of supporting her and Taylor kinda disappeared for awhile 😢 then she came out with her Reputation album! Hope this helps! 💕💕💕

Okay so I don’t really know the specific guys she writes about in debut so we’ll go onto fearless: in the summer of 2008, Taylor dated joe Jonas. This was when the Jonas brothers were on tour and love story had hit the top charts. It was a very short lived romance and it was definitely rocky right after the split. I think her most popular songs about him are Forever and Always, Mr Perfectly Fine, Last Kiss, and Holy Ground(bangers obviously). Taylor also spoke about their breakup on Ellen and how he broke up with her in a 25 second phone call. Taylor released Better Than Revenge(on Speak Now) in 2010 which is supposedly about Camilla Belle ‘stealing’ Joe from Taylor shortly after their break up. So yeah that was a whole thing. There’s not a whole lot to say about her next ex bf, Lucas Till who plays the guy in the ybwm MV. He told MTV that they dated for a month but their relationship was mostly platonic, and they were better off as friends. Next, there was Taylor Lautner. He is allegedly the one who Back To December is about(and maybe Midnight Rain). They dated for about 3 months from September to December 2009. They had a very wholesome relationship with little drama.

OKAY NEXT we have the worst of the worst: John Mayer….
They dated for 3 (traumatic) months, December 2009-February 2010. First off, she was 19 and he was 30 years old. Second off, he knew she wrote songs about her relationships and he made a HUGE deal when she released Dear John(an iconic song). Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve is also allegedly about him. I mean c’mon dude. I won’t even say much more, but here’s what he said to rolling stone right after she released the song Dear John:
“I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower? I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting. I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait till he gets a load of this!’ That’s bullshit.”

Okay next we have Connor Kennedy, July 2012-October 2012, and there’s not a lot to unpack here. They dated for a short time and they had a mutual breakup, and it wasn’t messy. NOW NOW NOW, we have none other than Harry Styles… so much happened during that time, despite it only being a 3 month relationship(November 2012-January 2013). Rumors first started circulating when Taylor was seen wearing Harry’s airplane necklace. She also wore that same necklace in the OOTW MV. Most of 1989 is believed to be about Harry and we got banger, after banger on that album(Perfect by One Direction is believed to be about Taylor). They first met at the Elle Style awards in February. A month later, they were seen together in matching outfits. Two months after they celebrated their 1 year anniversary, Calvin broke things off and it was very very messy. Calvin even had the audacity to accuse Taylor of cheating on him!! Some people speculate Dancing With Our Hands Tied is about him because of the lines about being 25 and about an invisible locket(he gave her a locket as a gist once). Getaway Car is also about him AND the next ex to discuss… Tom Hiddleston! I lowkey feel bad for him because he was kinda an innocent bystander but I’m team Taylor sooo🤷‍♀️. They dated from May 2016-September 2016. They first seen dancing at some award show lol. Nextttt, picture of them kissing were published. Tom then met her parents!! and they were seen together at a Selena Gomez concert AND he was seen wearing an ‘I HEART TS’ shirt while in the ocean with Taylor and a bunch of models.
