The beginning of the book is a cowboy who falls asleep by a fire. He wakes up in a strange world and has to navigate the threats of tribes and socitey, etc. Basically, you find out its the future and the world was devastated by a virus. In the end, the boy wakes up and becomes a doctor and finds the cure before it destroys humanity. Been trying to find this book. Thanks for your help. It may or may not have "saga" in the title.
