This series is getting better. I’m looking forward to reading this.

Sorry I missed both notifications. I was coming to see when you wanted to start it. I have two buddy reads on the go and I'm starting another tomorrow with Karen. I could start tomorrow or tonight. I agree it is getting better. I read the synopsis for this one and it looks interesting.

Chapter 1-8
(view spoiler)[ So I can't tell if Veck killed the serial killer or not. There is a little chemistry between him and Reilly. I'm interested in seeing what happens there.
I'm hoping all Jim's strengths will help him against Devinia. We keep seeing new ones. He can make himself "pop" away with no help from the higher up Angels.
It's a guess will his plan backfire against Devinia? Wouldn't it be weird if they fell for each other and that ended everything?

Chapters 9-20
(view spoiler)[ I loved the two lingerie scenes. The first in the store and then the second in the car. Is the split up
a precursor to Adian's death? If they beat Devinia will Aiden be okay? . Do you think Colin is Jim's dog?. I just keep getting more questions.
Ohhh introduction of a vampire.
I like Reilly and Veck together. As weird as the book is sometimes there are little bits of humor thrown in ( Veck meeting Reilly's dad. I don't think Jim is going to win this round(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I finished another book. SoI haven’t started this one. I will today.

That was a twist I didn't see happening. I'm not quite sure why that happened? Part of the war? To get Jim and Ad to work together?

I suspected that Reilly would push Veck away after they had sex.

Yes. This is good! The mystery of the story has me hooked to find out what happened.

I like the way this starts. Veck being the son of a serial killer is interesting. And he doesn’t know if he killed or not.

Poor Jim. He isn’t taking his loss well! Things are crazy between him and Devina. A sick lust/hate relationship, I guess.

I’m glad Reilly isn’t quick to think Veck guilty. That’s a nice change.

I didn’t think about how all the crazies would come out, for the son of a notorious serial killer.

Nothing much came of this discovery in this section. Darn!

I do like the humorous situations with Reilly and Veck. His finding her Victoria Secret. And Reilly’s dad making fun of Veck.

I think Ward has done a great job of upping the level of urgency and tension.

(view spoiler)[ Wow! I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised that Jim won this round. I really enjoying the ending and loved the feeling of urgency and tension in the last 5-6 chapters. I didn't get that in the other two books or not as much and maybe that has to do with progressing through the rounds of this war.
The scene with Jim and Devinia wasn't what I expected. Jim is both sides pick so I guess it fits that he isn't always good.
I really enjoyed this one. 4 stars for me. (hide spoiler)]

I did not expect Eddie to die! Jim and Adrian will be on a war path now.

And I do understand now that Devina wants everyone to think Kroner killed Sissy. But Reilly and Veck aren’t fooled.

I’m glad the drama over Veck not wanting Reilly upstairs in his bedroom didn’t last long. I hate when simple misunderstanding don’t get resolved until the end of the book.

Ugh! More relationship drama! Reilly believes Veck may be a psychopath too easily. When she didn’t believe he attacked Kroner in the beginning of the book? She FINALLY figures out the the story was bogus about Veck. This is the only time I wasn’t liking Reilly much.

This was an exciting book! There were some surprise for sure. Jim is getting another chance at Mathias!?

And I just gotta say. Devina is so good at being a villain!

I’m in a summer slow down. 🙂 I was going to start this last night. But fell asleep instead. I will try to start tonight or tomorrow.

Perfect. I'm not feeling my usual self so didn't start either. I'm going to finish my book for the Yoga challenge and then start this.

Ch 1-10

I started yesterday. I read the first 10 chapters.

Nice to have Matthias back. Jim has another chance. I don’t remember much about Matthias except that he was a bad guy. He has obviously been through a lot in hell.

I don’t know much about Mel’s yet. She seems okay, and will likely help him to remember who he is. There is insta lust between them. Got to see how their relationship goes.

Devina in therapy, and OCD over cosmetics is strange! LOL I’m just going with it. She’s definitely up to her old tricks again too.

So now I remember Matthias after Jim started telling him what happened.

I’m thinking Devina dyed the hooker’s hair so the girl looked like Sissy, and she could taunt Jim?

I guess Matthias is changing. He was impotent with Mel’s. Probably because she means more to him than the other women. At least his body recognizes this, even though his brain may not.

(view spoiler)[I'm not sure if it's me or the story but I'm not sucked in yet like I was. The start was boring. I'm going to read more to see if it gets better for me.

Adrian's dream was weird. I wonder how it's going to work out for him and Jim without Eddie?

(view spoiler)[ I m liking the book more then I did at first. Yes, I agree with you. Devina was taunting Jim. I like that Matthias is slowly getting his memory back. Now he will have to decide who he wants to be, the same guy or someone different.

Matthias and Mels aren’t my favorite couple in this series. I don’t really feel the heat. It feels forced. So far, book 3 is my favorite.

It may be because Matthias is a darker hero. His story about his father was sad. And now I remember his story completely when Jim told him what he did in his past.

Yes. I agree. Adrian is having a tough time right now. I am very curious about what Adrian is keeping from Jim. I do think they will win this round.

(view spoiler)[ usually I can figure things out but I'm really unsure if Matthias is going to be able to stay. I do like Mel and Matthias together but so far this isn't my favorite book either. 3 was also my favorite.

Ch 31-40

This section has more action and excitement. I did enjoy that.

And Adrian healed Matthias! I think Matthias will do the right thing. Mostly because there are only 2 more books and the angels only need 2 more wins. I know that’s cheating. LOL

We do get more of Mels story with her parents. Somehow I keep feeling like the pacing and parsing out of information about Matthias and Mels is erratic. Which is why I am having trouble really getting into this book. But I am invested enough to see how the angels get this win.

Chapters 31-42
(view spoiler)[yes, definitely a bit more faster paced with a bit of action. The healing scene was interesting. I like the showdowns between Jim and Devinia. She can really throw him for a loop. I really won't be surprised if Jim and Devinia end up together (hide spoiler)]

I finished today. I’m definitely interested in reading the next one. Maybe in August. Just let me know what works for you.

Ch 41 - 57

I haven’t read the description yet for book 5, but it will have to deal with getting Sissy back. I’m interested in that.

Matthias and Mels worked out their problems like I knew they would. LOL And Matthias does make the right choice and gets to come back to be with Mels. His coming back was a little too easy and ant climactic. This book was more of a 3 star read for me. Not bad. The romance part just didn’t thrill me.

Ch 1-14

I didn’t read the description for this so I wouldn’t know what to expect. Not sure what Cate’s story is, but I found her hairdresser appointment to dye her hair blonde hilarious. On audio, the accent of Pablo was funny. Of course, this will confuse Duke since the psychic told him his life will be changed by a brunette.

I was confused about who Cate’s love interest would be. GB or Duke? GB seems like a good enough guy. But maybe a bit jaded with his one night stands that get him in trouble. I figure that is why Cate’s ticket wasn’t at will call.

I can’t get a clear picture of Duke either. He seems a bit of a Neanderthal, with his cave man demand that Cate meet him, even though Cate doesn’t know him. Not saying the dynamic isn’t interesting! LOL

Poor Sissy! I knew she would be part of this book. I’m interested to see where this goes.

In the last book, I complained about no heat between the couple. I definitely can’t complain about that in this book! LOL Cate and Duke are hot. But it’s insta lust for sure. They don’t know each other so their romance is lacking there. I feel like I am missing something between GB and Duke. It probably was mentioned in the beginning of the book when I was having trouble focusing. But it seems like they do not like each other and are in a competition for Cate?

I was surprised that Devina was the one sleeping in bed with Jim. Not sure why I was, though. She is capable of anything to get to Jim. And of course, she was behind Jim getting into the car accident.

It took me this far before I figured out that Devina has her claws in GB. And that Cate knew Sissy and will go to her funeral. Boy, I really missed things!

So now the game has changed. Now that the archangel is dead. Interesting!

How is it that Jim doesn’t realize when Devina pretends she is Sissy? I’d think he would? I am wondering if Jim and Sissy will be together in the last book of the series?
