HISTORY
Growing up under the spotlight had taken having a normal childhood away from Damian. He always had to watch what he said and never really got to live his life. Damian loved playing soccer until his studies got in the way. And while Damian loved his family dearly, he found it hard to express certain thoughts or feelings. He often feared disappointment or losing the ones he loved most. This has stemmed from his sister. His sister, Amy, who abandoned the country a long time ago for District 13, was Damian's absolute best friend. Damian and Amy would run around the Capital, acting like complete and udder fools. But then they grew up. Amy fell in love with a woman from the districts. Damian will always believe that Amy had been tricked into falling in love with the woman and had been brainwashed into leaving without saying goodbye. It is here where Damian's hatred of the LGBT+ community bloomed. Over the years, he has become cold, abusive, and brash. And now? Well, now he's President and in charge of Panem. Finally. He had been waiting years. Finally, his father died and now it's him ruling the country. Things are going to change around pretty Panem. May the odds be ever in your favor.

PERSONALITY
Damian is all about control and manipulation. His entire thing is about making people feel small and vulnerable. His sense of entitlement is off the charts, and he can't stand the idea of anyone challenging his authority. Behind closed doors, Damian is even more of a monster. He gets off on hurting people - physically and mentally. He's a real piece of work, not giving a second thought to innocent people caught in the crossfire of his revenge mission. Here's the thing, though. Damian's abusiveness comes from a place of deep insecurity. He's terrified of losing his power and control over others, and he's super paranoid about the rebels popping up again even though it's been 200 years. When they turned eighteen, she hopped a ride in the back of the train to the Capitol, taking her younger brother Pierre with her. The two stowed away until they got to the bustling, luxurious city, feeling like their lives had ended and begun all at once. Natasha got a job at a boutique, and quickly rose up to be a stylist for district one under the name Natasha Pensive at the age of twenty-five. They send money to their family, and see them every once and a while, but for the most part, she stays in the Capitol, glamorizing the government's latest victims, pampering them before sending them off to the slaughterhouse. It became numbing after a while, and soon Natasha couldn’t even fake her tears when they said their final goodbyes to the tributes as they walked to their death. They couldn’t afford to feel anything for the children that died- if she did, then her life would be endless misery, even more than it already was. She can’t fix the problem- she knows that. So, she just became part of it. At first she pretended she was doing something good, helping the tributes before the games. Now she knows she's just putting lipstick on the lamb and hoping the butcher finds it cute enough to keep it alive.

That likability that left him so unremarkable and weak for most of his life could maybe win over to posh socialite elitists of the purgatory they call Panem, and leave him standing victorious in the end. No matter what the government wants, if you play the game right, they can’t do a damn thing about it. Ario has been the nice guy, the generous guy, the funny guy. Never before has he thought it could be a weapon. That was a mistake, one he’d never make again. The sword is greater than the pen until you stab an eyeball with it and forge a note saying goodbye. ⇢⇢⇢Ario had an average childhood by the district's standards- which to say, it is horrifying by ours. He was always warm, having enough wood for fire all the time. His older brother and sister were the ones who traded for food, while he stayed home and took care of his often sick father. He went hungry a lot less than others, and he had decent clothes and shoes. That was the extent of his privilege. And then when he was reaped, all of that went away. His siblings were too old to volunteer, and without him, there was no one to take care of Diangelo's father, Marcus. He didn’t know his mother- she had died when he was two, so the only way he could remember her was through the blurry painting of her his father had done. The three siblings were the only source of income and survival in the family, and with one of them gone, and most likely soon dead, the thin string of life holding them together would start to unravel. And yet, despite all of this, Ario can still look back and think, damn, I had it good as he steps off the pedestal. Many of the other tributes probably can’t even think that.

history: Diana is the only child of the richest family in district one. Her parents own the largest luxury goods factory, which meant that Diana had a wonderful childhood. Of course she was trained to fight and survive in the hunger games, but she loved this training deeply. Because it was there that she met the love of her live: Luke Grace. They soon became a couple and made plans for the future. Unfortunately disaster struck as her parents died due to a deadly disease and left her as head of the factory.

during the games: Diana won the games at an age of 14 years. She and Luke who was the male tribute from district one formed an alliance with the district two tributes and managed to hold the cornucopia. In the end it was only the for of them left so the district two tributes betrayed Luke and Diana. Diana managed to kill the male tribute but when the female one wanted revenge and shot at her she wasn’t able to doge the attack. In the last second Luke jumped in front of her and took the arrow. Blinded by rage and fury Diana murdered the female tribute and tried to save Luke but failed. His last words before his death were: “live for me, my love”. So Diana won the hunger games while losing everything she loved.

personality: Before the games Diana was a very extroverted, talkative person. She had lots of friends and loved to study. But after the games she became cold and unapproachable. Her friends all turned away from her because everybody thought she killed Luke herself. The cameras were so focused on the dying male district two tribute, they didn’t filmed how Luke died protecting Diana. The next thing the spectators saw was how Diana murdered the female tribute with a dead Luke lying next to her. These circumstances made her famous in the Capitol but now everybody in district one hated her. So Diana lived alone in her house and cared only about the factory. The only reason why she doesn’t have an alcohol problem or is drug addicted is because she promised Luke to live. And that’s exactly what she’s going to do.

⇀ Grady Merrit is a terrifying man. His silence isn't sweet or comfortable, it's a threat. Nobody knows much about him, seeing as he never lets anybody get close, and he hates being around others. When he has to speak to people, his words are harsh, blunt, and cruel. However, when you are forced to spend time with him, you discover his exhaustion. He's simply a tired man, done with living and mentoring, and has entirely lost his spark. He's almost completley given up.
⇀ Grady was selected as a tribute in his final year of the reaping, at age eighteen, and despite never have being trained in the ways of the Games or priviliged like others, he was not volunteered for and won within a day. When asked how, he simply said he was determined, but the truth is this- when Grady was young, his little sister was reaped and killed violently. Both his parents went mad with grief, and both began abusing him. His pain tolerance slowly went up, and eventually he began to fight back. However, his parents were large and strong, so it took him plenty of time of self training and excercise to be able to become victorious over them. Eventually, he moved out, and that was the year he was reaped. In his mind, he has not just won one game- he has won two.

⇀ Winslow Merrit is a warm, kind woman, but can turn cold and feral within seconds. Her protective and loyal nature lead to a violent temper, and her soft, lovely voice can shift to a growl or yell if she's threatened. Determind as one can be, Winslow is an unstoppable force. Many mistake her kindness for weakness, but that's the last they'll see of her- or anyone or thing, for that matter.
⇀ When Winslow was reaped, she was terrified and scatterbrained, but quickly collected herself. Her family had always praised her for her brains, so she decided that she was going to survive the games, no matter what. In her training, she collected pieces of technology and other weapons, eventually collected enough to create a hollographic device disguised as a handkercheif and a small device that would slow her heartbeat for over 24 hours, enough for the plane to come fetch her. She used both to escape the arena, the hologram depicting a rather violent end for her, and escaped off the jet after she was no longer supervised. She hid for years, developing a plan, before training to become a stylist, changing her face, and become and assistant stylist for district seven with a new name, Ophelia Court.

⇀ Birdie Aspyn is seen as bubbly, whimsical, kind, naive, and a bit stupid, at times. While she can be each of those things, Birdie is also wise, hurt, afraid, and deeply loving. One of her deepest frustrations is that she knows how much passion and love she has to give people, or a lover, but no one ever trusts or cares about her enough to give her the chance. appearance : apollo has thick, wavy hair that reaches messily just above his shoulders. when apollo wa three, he was given the nickname “ honey “ due to the hue of his locks. it was rare for people of district twelve to have dark hair, thus resulting in abnormality to apollo and his family. his golden skin was covered in splotches of sunspots from hanging around in the fields and by the lakes. apollo’s eyes are a beautiful, sky blue with flecks of gray in them. his lips are small and pink. apollo is tall, with a muscular build from working in the mines.

personality : despite originating from a miserable district, apollo usually has an upbeat, energetic energy, similar to a golden retriever. he’s a morning person, up before others and the sun. he’s caring, putting others first until he absolutely has to care about himself. unfortunately, he does not deal with stress in a healthy way. being the oldest in a family of seven, apollo is patient and worries too much about where his next meal will come from. in this case, he shares his food with his younger siblings. apollo deals with nightmares consistently, yet always puts a wide smile on his face. he is mature and acts older than he appears.

history : growing up, apollo felt out of place. not because of his hair, but the fact that he had to mature quicker than his peers once he reached the age of fourteen years old. once his father had passed away in a mining incident, apollo was required to work in the mines, slaving away in order to provide for his family. nightmares often struck, waking him up screaming. by the age of fifteen, his name had been entered over seventy times in the hunger games. apollo grew close with a boy named henry, and they spent the early mornings near the lake together before they’d return to work. the morning of apollo’s eighteens birthday ( coincidentally the reaping day , ) apollo and henry shared one final moment together, sealing their ending with a kiss. later that day, apollo was whisked away, unable to say goodbye to his family.

⇢⇢⇢Jenny grew up with her mother, Penny, and her mother's 'best friend' Nina, who everyone knew was Penny's lover. Luckily, people were too scared to say anything about it, and the three lived their lives unbothered. Well, as unbothered as you could be in the district. The peacekeepers were brutal, the living conditions worse, and every day the heat only seemed to increase. to beat down on the land's inhabitants. Jenny worked in a sweatshop making clothes ever since she was really young. And despite the awful conditions, the overworking, and the overbearing bosses, she never lost her passion for the art of the cloth, of the needle. Her scars on her fingers never deterred the happiness that would overtake her when a beautiful piece of clothing was finished, soft under her fingers. She learned to weave her own rope, and left nooses and traps in her house to catch the vermin and small animals that would come through. She had two good friends in her district, and when they didn't step forward during her reaping, she didn't blame them one bit. Because she planned to come back home and see them again, along with the rest of her family. She would come back home, and smile at them, fall into their open arms. She'll survive.

Ever since Opal was a child, she was taught that being perfect was of utmost importance. Of course, it had to do with the fact that she comes from a rich family of two well-known couples who worked in the pearl business with four kids. The first one would be her older brother and then her older sister after him, leaving a younger sister after Opal, making her the third child. From the age of one, they’re always taught to follow a set of rules. Always carry themselves with respect and dignity. Only be presented clean and in proper fashion to show statues. But most importantly, to not associate with anyone below their caste. Her siblings believed that ideology and lived their lives following it, and so did Opal herself later on.

At first, it took Opal a while because she was still so innocent. When she was little, she made friends with one of the maid's kids, who was viewed as less than her. Still so young, Opal didn’t even know what that meant yet. She just enjoyed the company of the little kid as any child would. Sadly, Aarya was found playing with her new friend in the maid's quarters, Opal as a result, the maid was fired and Opal was punished. She never understood why her parents took the actions they did but was never given the chance to question it. She just knew from that day forward, she wouldn’t allow herself to interact with anyone that wasn’t like her. At first, it kept her from making new friends because she was afraid of losing them or getting caught, or maybe even disappointing her parents. But then it became a trait that she believed was rightly so. After all, why would she want to associate with anyone below her? At that point, her friend group only consisted of a few people her parents selected for her, each one fake in their own way.

Just like her siblings, Opal grew up training for the Hunger Games as did any of the kids from the careers. She pushed herself to become the best of her siblings in hopes of pleasing her parents and getting more recognition from them. Still, with all the effort she put into her training, she was never as good. Her brother, the oldest, came first, and her two other sisters were equally right after. Even her sister who was younger than her was better than her. It bothered Opal for years, but she never gave up on trying to get better.

At the age of 18, her brother joined the games. At first, they were excited, even hopeful with how well his training had been. But when news came of his death, Opal's heart ached with hatred. She wasn’t sure towards who. Maybe the district that killed her brother. The capital that created the stupid game. Or maybe even her parents for secretly forcing him to volunteer for games to begin with. Still, clueless about this information, it hurt to lose her brother, and everything seemed cold and dark for a while.

Years later, it wasn’t only until she met her knight in shining armor. An old friend who she had bickered with as kids, but grew fond of once they were older, was the reason she was able to get over her brother's grief. He too was raised in wealth, and it helped that their mothers were friends, so seeing him didn’t go against her parents, and it allowed them to see each other more often. He was everything she wasn’t. Patient. Balanced. Accepting. Being with him changed her in a way she never thought she could be. Opal became more inspired, liberated, and open-minded. Rather than hate everyone or judge them, she now tries to think of them as equals. She started to crave the freedom that others have and wish to become a better person. He makes her believe she’s able to become that person, and because of that, she grows to care for him deeply. She was confident with her love for him, and so was he. However, due to family business, his parents had moved away, leaving the two to forcefully separate.

Despite being separated by distance, Opal couldn’t bring herself to separate from him, and for a while, they reached out to each through through messages. Eventually, though, the two began to talk to each other less often, and after a while agreed they couldn’t go on with the act. But sometimes, they find each other reaching out to the other at moments of need. It’s difficult for Aarya, though she has a change of heart compared to her family, she still has a difficult time with making friends. Her old snobby and rude behavior is a habit she still can’t get past, and with her parents still watching her every move, it makes it difficult for her to be her true self. When you get to know her, her willingness to change and her trusting nature can make her seem naive or docile. In reality, Opal craves nothing but true freedom from her parent's lifestyle, wanting nothing more than to be able to wash off the image of feigned perfection and pointless aristocracy her parents so desperately painted on her. As a disparate act to become free, Opal joined the games, not sure if she needed to prove something to everyone or to her escape from her harsh reality.

  — Physical Strength | If hauling and working with large pieces of wood doesn’t convince you, maybe his workout regime might. Since becoming a victor, Azrael has found a release from his terrors and stress by becoming stronger and more capable of fighting back, even more so than when he was in the arena. He might not have access to many weapons to train with, nor would he be allowed to if he did, but he’s honed himself into one anyway.

  — Resilient | Giving up isn’t something he’s ever considered an option and that stubbornness is likely the only thing that’s kept him sane. Whether bouncing back from physical challenges or finding a way to live after emotional suffering, Azrael has proven his endurance.

  — Awareness of Forest Survival | Coming from District 7, Azrael has spent plenty of time in the great forests that supply Panem’s lumber and is well aware of the hazards that come from the flora and fauna. He also knows how to use natural resources when emergencies call for it which is what helped him survive during his time in the Games.

  — His Inability to Let Go | Forgive and forget, right? Wrong. Azrael does neither. He forgets nothing, including anything or anyone that has ever wronged him or someone he cared about. While he might’ve learned how to better manage that anger, it still smolders, creating a near obsession-like way of thinking.

Azrael makes no effort to hide his feelings on most matters, making him direct and extremely honest. For some, it’s refreshing from the lies and sweet promises of the capitol. For others, it’s unwise and reckless. But, he feels that if his opinions or advice would help someone, he needs to share them. There is a limit to his honesty because that sense of self-preservation that was accentuated in the arena is still present in his daily life. However, he’s found ways to tip-toe the line between rebellious and obedient. There’s just too much he’s not willing to risk to truly voice his passions. When he was younger, he used to be more playful and affectionate than he is now, and though he is a lot more serious and realistic, little glimmers of his old self still shine through with a select few.

  — His Parents | For the most part, Azrael has maintained a close relationship with his parents. It's one built of trust, responsibility, and maturity. After Az's time in the Hunger Games, the dynamic changed between parents and son and it became more formal and distant even. There are just too many subjects that Azrael doesn't feel his parents couldn't understand about his life now and so there's a divide they can never seem to cross when they're together. Still, Azrael loves them dearly and knows he can't hold anything against them.

  — His Sisters | He has two twin sisters named Lira and Lana. Five years younger than him, they have always been his to protect and love as their older brother. Since they came of age, Azrael never once allowed them to take out tesserae when the sawmill came on hard times and once he became one of the victors of his district, he's done everything he can to protect and care for them. The three have always been close and he hopes that nothing will change that.

For some, winning the Games is a triumphant event, shrouded in pride, glory, and relief. For others, the Games mark the true hopelessness and vulnerability that the Capitol has over its citizens. Azrael falls into the latter category.

He didn’t have a remarkable childhood or a defining dream for the arena. Coming from a middle-class family in District 7, his family was in charge of one of the major sawmills in the district and had more resources than most. Thankful for this, they had sought to distribute the wealth where they could, even if it was the barest of necessities. That was how he met the Halliard family, and in turn, Reyna. Close in age and working in the same department in the sawmill, serving as runners and fill-in help when needed, they became close. Her family benefited from the extra food for the younger children and he benefited by having a friend as close as he might have a sister.

And then the reaping. As luck would have it, Reyna found the odds not in her favor, and not a soul stepped up to take her place.

But when it came to calling out the boy, a turn of events brought the spotlight to District 7’s Reaping. When Cody Garrett’s name was called, a cry sounded from his mother, one that was swiftly followed by a gasp of relief as another boy stepped forward, volunteering as tribute in Cody’s place. Azrael, a mere 16 at the time.

Azrael wasn’t sure what he was thinking at that moment. Maybe he envisioned a shared victory. A perfect world. An absolute delusion.

That’s what it was. When he watched Reyna die, something irrevocably shattered within him. He had grown up watching the Games from his side of the screen, wondering if his strength and wits would win the prize that could change his family’s way of life. But he wasn’t ready for what the Games took. It was the agony of watching her die that sent him into the rage he grew popular for. The citizens of the Capitol were moved by his display - in their twisted way - as he slaughtered the tributes who had killed her. He had little love to return for the Capitol though. Especially not when his return home was a new arena in itself.

People fawned for his attention, his love. It was a deranged dream and those in power found plenty of ways to feed that. For a price. It’s an old story, one that spans hundreds of years' worth of Games. High-ranking members of society desired to have some claim on the victor even now, wishing to be the center of his all-consuming attention even if it was but for a night. He hated them. He hated himself. And he hated the Capitol and the man in charge. But he didn’t fight back. What was the point? He couldn’t lose anyone else.

So, he played the games once more. Whispered stories against skin. Lies against painted lips. Azrael became a sweetheart of Capitol as one of the younger victors and his hatred slowly grew into something sharp, and dangerous. Gone was the boy with innocent hope and light-filled dreams. Here to stay was the prey turned hunter, just biding his time until the Capitol meets its match.

Until then, however, it’s his job to take care of the kids going into the same nightmare he faced, and as much as he despises the Games, he refuses to send the tributes in unprepared. Whether it’s extra training, advice on networking, or calling in favors, Azrael will do whatever he can to get his kids out alive.

personality: Rose is an incredible social person. She gets along with almost everybody. But only her close friends now who she really is. Next to her open nature Rose is very smart and kind of nerdy. But her popularity has also got her many enemies. Most of them are simply jealous.

history: Rose grew up as a single child whose parents are wealthy enough for people from a district. She always had great grades in class and was observed closely by those who organize the transport system of Panem. Her confident appearance was often mistook for arrogance which led to a lot of people despising her. Rose simply didn’t care about the Capitol as long as she and her family were left alone and she got a job at the organization company.

Strengths: Rose Mikaelson is extremely smart and kind of absorbs knowledge like a dark hole absorbs light. She is also in a good shape and able to run or fight if necessary. In the games Rose is going to rely on allies and is going to be the brain of the group.

Weakness: Rose often overestimates herself which can lead to her underestimating opponents or how dangerous a situation really is. She also isn’t a professional fighter and therefore won’t be able to beat another person in an one vs. one.
