Chicks On Lit discussion

It is time to nominate some books for our next Group read(s) for the spring of 2015.

If you nominate a book, be willing to lead the discussion of the book if your book is selected.

So what would you like to nominate for our next Group read? These can be new releases, older releases, popular books, thought provoking books, etc.

We will be running a poll in a few weeks to select our next group reads from the books nominated.

Great choices so far. Anyone else want to throw something out for consideration? Be brave! We don't bite! And leading a discussion is not a scary as it may sound. :-)

I have a Nook and I get books when on sale. I have about 745 I haven't read yet.

Sheila I will not be offended if you have to eliminate any of the books. I might have nominated too many. ☺

I've eliminated the ones we have already read, and then put us down to an even 10 for voting! :-)

Only a couple days left in the vote, and the votes are spread out across the board. If you haven't voted, please vote soon, or if you have voted and would like to consider some other book to read, feel free to change your vote in the next day or two! Again, we will read the top two vote getters, or we will have a run off vote to get winners if needed.

I like all these choices, and think they will give us an interesting and varied variety of books to read and discuss!

Invention of Wings got the most votes so we will do it first in May. The other two tied for second place, so we can do them in the order that everyone prefers. :-)

We seem to be an indecisive group of late. :) I may try to join in with Beloved.

I haven't read the first two and I read Beloved. I didn't care for Beloved.

I feel the same way, Jayme. I read Beloved in college and didn't like it. But maybe if I read it now I'll have a different perspective? We'll see. I'll most likely join in the conversation anyway.

Maybe I will give it another try.

I don't mind though, because then it selects several months worth of books so I don't have to keep polling every month! LOL Gives us a nice variety too. :-)

I think it's a good idea to do it this way, too. I will make the schedule for discussion. I will also create different threads for each part of the book.
