Buddy Reads
Let’s read some books together! Buddy reads are a great way to read and discuss a book together with fellow group members. This month we will have a total of 15 Buddy Reads!
We are reading the following stand-alone books:
Death is Hard Work, Pachinko, Rebecca, The Unconsoled, and Wuthering Heights.
We will start or continue the following series:
Alex Cross #25: The People vs. Alex Cross, The Folk of the Air #1: The Cruel Prince, Hollow Kingdom #1, The Mistborn Saga #2: The Well of Ascension, The Murderbot Diaries #2: Artificial Condition, Sigma Force #2: Map of Bones, Six of Crows #2: Crooked Kingdom, Temeraire #7: Crucible of Gold, Wanderers #1, and Women’s Murder Club #5: The 5th Horseman.

Today is the last day to sign up for our Reading Rainbow team readathon, which will take place from June 9 to June 18, 2023. Teams will be announced tomorrow, so don’t delay!
Tip from the Mods

Group Read
Every month, our group votes and reads a book together. You don't have to read the book, but we would love it if you did!
Our June theme is Emoji and our group read for this month is Moby Dick or, the Whale by Herman Melville, a classic that was translated to emojis! This book was nominated by Jordan. Whether you plan to read the original version or the Emoji translation, feel free to join the discussion or post your review of the book!
You can also vote for our July book with the theme of Circus as well as nominate a book for August with the theme of Art!
Challenges
Have you signed up for any of our yearly challenges? Check out the Guide to the 2023 Yearly Challenges for a brief description of each one. Regardless of which reading genres or activities you enjoy, you’re sure to find a yearly challenge or two to help you reach your 2023 reading goals!
We are entering the final month of our second quarter challenges. Reflecting the theme To Explore Strange New Worlds, Out of This World is a prompt-based challenge based on characteristics of exoplanets beyond our solar system. This challenge is led by its creator Kristina. All the Feels, offers several ways to explore feelings through prompts, spell-it-out, word find, or a combination that feels right for you. Carmen created this challenge and will be its leader.
We have two new challenges for June’s theme of Emoji! Emoji Pop Culture has ten prompts related to emoji. This challenge was created by its leader, Carmen. The second monthly challenge, Emoji Titles, is an open challenge to translate your book titles into emoji. Lisa created and will lead this challenge.
