Darcia Helle (darciahelle) I didn't see this topic posted anywhere, so I hope I'm not repeating something that has already been discussed.

Do you all prefer biographies or autobiographies? I kind of wish there was a way to mix the two into one book. With biographies, sometimes the "facts" are wrong, having been sifted through a variety of other sources. With an autobiography, the author is obviously biased and most will only reveal things that put them in a good light - or things that spark controversy, depending on who the person is.

I recently read Janis Joplin's biography, which cast her as narcissistic and a little crazy. I can't help but wonder what she would have wanted us to know had she been able to write her autobiography.
