Thanks for the recommendation. I have heard of this book multiple times; it seems like it was all over the charts and everyone was reading it. I don't read as much historical fiction so I totally missed it.
The other big adaptation of a similarly big book that I heard about is "Killers of the Flower Moon." Again, I totally missed that book too but had always heard how good it was.
It's always tough with adaptations of books into movies, but hopefully they turn out well!
Hi Colton,
It's so nice to hear from you. It's a great book. I hope you have a chance to read it and watch it the movie when it comes in November. My pile of "to read" books keeps getting bigger. This book was worth finding the time.
Yes, Killers of the Flower Moon... another great book. A difficult, but true story. David Grann did a fantastic job with the research. I had never heard about this tragic history until this book came out. Interesting, when I first read this book, I immediately thought that it was a perfect Leonardo DiCaprio movie. Brendan Fraser also appears in the movie. I'm anticipating another Martin Scorsese award nomination and cast nominations.
Yes, I never know what to expect with movie adaptations. I hope for the best, especially if the book is a favorite of mine.
Always a pleasure hearing your thoughts about books and movies.
Have a good day.

The movie adaptation of Anthony Doerr's, Pulitzer-prize winning and best-selling book, "All The Light We Cannot See" is coming to Netflix in November of this year.
The story that takes place in occupied France during WWII, involves a young, teenage girl who encounters a young, German soldier. This series will follow the life of young Marie-Laure Leblanc, who is blind, living with her uncle during the war. Her friendship develops with Werner Pfennig, the German teenager and expert in radio repair. Their friendship grows into a common bond of hope and faith, despite the struggles and cruelty of war.
Have you read this book? What are your thoughts? Books about war are not easy for me to read. However, I hope you give this book a chance and read it. It is a great one and I can only hope that the movie is true to the book as much as possible. The characters are unforgettable.
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna
