God is the Truth that forms the foundation of reason and reality. God upholds the consistency of all facts in reality so that science is even possible.
But truth corresponds to reality. Things and events in reality are described by statements that are true. This can be seen as the very purpose of reality: to demonstrate and exemplify the nature and character of truth. And of all the creatures in the universe, we humans are most concerned with what is true and how we know it's true.
And how do we determine and recognize what is true? What is the essential character of truth? The nature of truth is such that any attempt to negate it will only end up proving that it is true. This is used in science, engineering, math, and law. The best way to prove that something is true and reliable is to show it survives efforts to negate it. We torture test products in the design phase to show they are safe and reliable for use. We show that scientific theories are valid by demonstrating that they survive every attempt to falsify them with extreme tests.
Life and death are binary states in that you cannot be both alive and dead, and you cannot be neither alive nor dead. And so it is like the true and false of logic. Humans value truth because it correlates to existence, and we want to continue to exist. So we think that we can gain life by upholding truth. But if truth is relevant to life, then we should expect the character of truth to be reflected in a person's life. And just as any attempt to negate truth only leads to proving that it is true, any attempt to negate that person's life will lead to the fact that he will live. In other words, anyone who actually upholds the truth will rise from the dead. The resurrection is the only real truth to uphold.
