Lea I'm trying to get back into reading!
My goal for this year is 30 books. I want also try to read at least 10 pages each day, so I turn reading in a habit again.
The most important part I think is that I have fun doing this challenge and not be mad if I don't reach my goal. I shouldn't told my mom about it, because now she made a competition about who finish 30 books first ... my fault
I want to challenge me daily, so I can see my progress and hope it motivates me when I need it. So I will try to sign up in some group challenges to participate (if I find out how everything works)
Last I want to start building my own library ( I will move out from home in September) and create such pretty bookshelves I see on TikTok and Instagram.

Lea I decided to do weekly reading updates instead of daily ones, so my first update:
I read 2 books: 12/30

1. A fire between us (Nina Bilinszki)
It was a cute love story with important topics, easy to read, but Lizzy annoyed me sometimes and it was not as good as the other 2 books it that series. 3/5

2. If we were villains (M.L.Rio)
I loved this book so so much!! I liked the characters, the style and everything. The whole story was fantastic, even if I in the first 100 pages I was sure who it will be and who had done it, but I liked reading it nevertheless because many things I didn't see coming. The whole book is the same vibe as 'dead poets society'. 5/5

I started a new book: Code X (Lucinda Flynn)
I don't really like it so far and I'm really struggling reading it... I don't know if I should stop it and read the next book...

Lina | 823 comments Good luck with your reading goals Lea! I hope you continue to have fun! :) And I am glad you liked 'If we were villains', I bought it a couple weeks ago and am looking forward to reading it (hopefully soon!).

Lea This week I finished two books I already started, read two other books and started a new book (which I will probably finish tomorrow).

1. Code X (Lucinda Flynn)
As I didn't like it last week, I still don't like the book. It was just not for me, but I'm happy I finished it! 2/5

2. The silent patient ( Alex Michaelides)
I liked the story and the style of writing. I didn't see the plot twist coming and had so many theories (which almost all were wrong). I really enjoyed reading it. 4/5

3. anatomy - a love story ( Dana Schwartz)
WOW! I was so into the story, I loved the idea, the love story, the "main" story, everything. I'm really excited for the second book, because this book, was one of my favourites so far. 5/5

4. Orks (Stan Nicholls)
I started this book in January and it was so hard to read. I didn't get the point of the story (I still don't do), the characters were not that deep. I read little chunks of the book over the last few months and today I finally finished it. 2/5

The new book I started: Sharing (Arno Strobel)

message 5: by Lea (new)

Lea Last week I finished one book, read two new books and started one book (which I will hopefully finish today, so I can read the 2nd book of the series)

1. Sharing (Arno Strobel)
I liked the story and the plot, it was easy to read, but nothing special 3/5

2. Recursion (Blake Crouch)
I loved the story and the ending and everything, but sometimes I was a little confused because of all the timelines. 4/5

3. Shatter me (Tahereh Mafi)
I had my difficulties in the beginning with the writing, but in the end I was kind of invested and I'm happy, that the second book will arrive today, so I can read it this week.

I started: The cruel prince (Holly Black)

message 6: by Lea (new)

Lea I forgot to post an update last week, but I finished the cruel prince and started the wicked king.
This week I finished the wicked king and read queen of nothing. I really liked the series and want to read the prequel.
I also read “wenn die Dunkelheit endet”, 5/5. This book was fantastic and an emotional rollercoaster. I loved it so much.
Yesterday I read “der Insasse”, 4/5. It was a good book and I didn’t see the plot twist coming.
Now I’m reading “upgrade” by blake crouch. I have 2hours left sitting in the bus to read, so maybe I will even finish it today :)

message 7: by Lea (new)

Lea Soo another week another update and last week I reached my yearly goal of 30 books!! (before my mother did)
I finished upgrade by Blake Crouch and it was phenomenal. I really liked it and I even cried a little in the end. 5/5

I read unravel me (Tahereh Mafi). It was better than shatter me and I felt the story has started now. 4/5

I read the 2 novellas in unite me (Tahereh Mafi). I think it was cool to read about the two other characters and see what they are up to, but it was not really special. 3/5

I also read Ignite me (Tahereh Mafi) and this book is right now my favourite of this series. It was soo good, I read it in one sitting, but still it' a 4/5

I read Traumnovelle (Arthur Schnitzler) and I didn't like it. It was kind of boring 2/5

I read cold case academy 1 (Jennifer Lynn Barnes) and I thought it was a very good book to read while not knowing what to read and not really feeling to read something. I liked the concept of the academy and I'm really looking forward to read the 2nd book. 4/5

I read Böser Wolf (Nele Neuhaus) and I was just confused the whole time with the different story lines. I didn't like the characters because I thought they were annoying (except one little girl). Also I didn't like the ending. 2/5

I read the fine Print and it was very good. I had my problems with the start, but overall I liked the story and on the last pages I ugly cried because it was so damn cute and I just couldn't handle it. 4/5

I'm excited to read more the next weeks and set my new goal to 50 for this year :)

Lea a new week a new update:
I had a lot to do this week and was busy trying to find a room in a new city where I will start studying in October, but I read 3 books!

1. How the King of Elfhame Learned to hate stories (Holly Black)
I really enjoyed the folk of the air series, so I thought this book will add a little more knowledge and specialness to the series and I was right. I liked the book and little stories in it and the illustrations. It was really a comfort read for me. 4/5

2. I read die Blutschule (Sebastian Fitzek)
It is definitely not my favourite book of this author (and I really like the author and his books). I can't really tell what I don't like about the book, but it just wasn't for me and maybe I had other expectations because of an other book, where this one is mentioned. 3/5

3. I finally read Fourth Wing (Rebecca Yaros)
I waited a month to receive this book and it came last week, so I had to immediately read it and I really loved it. I liked the story and the most characters. I liked that there was romance but not too much, so there is an actual storyline beside the love story. The place/world where this book is so magical with the dragons and the little magic and other creatures. It was really fun to read und I will definitely read the 2nd book in December, can't wait!! 5/5

Lea Last week I didn't feel like reading, but I still read 2 books and started a 3 one, which I dnf.

1. The housemaid (Freida McFadden)
I really liked the two perspectives and the story. I liked the characters and the psychological influence. 4/5

2. The inheritance games (Jennifer Lynn Barnes)
It was easy to read. The story was full of mystery and secrets and I'm very excited about the next book. 4/5

message 10: by Lea (new)

Lea Last week I read 3 books and started 2 books, one of the books is a buddy read.

1. The Hawthorne Legacy (Jennifer Lynn Barnes)
I liked the story, but didn't like it as much as the first book 3/5

2. The final Gambit (Jennifer Lynn Barnes)
I liked the plots and the characters a lot in this one. It was better than the 2nd book. 4/5

3. A thousand boy kisses (Tillie Cole)
I was crying the whole time but I really really loved the book. It was like a mix between "A fault in our stars" and "If I stay" 5/5

I started Caraval and so far I like it very much. I also started the red Queen (Buddy read) and I have some problems to keep reading, because I really don't like the protagonist, but I want to know how it ends.

message 11: by Lea (new)

Lea I finished two books, read one and started one.

1. the red Queen (Victoria Aveyard)
It was really difficult to keep reading, but in chapter 18 it gets better and the end was really good (compared to the rest of the book) I think I will try to continue the series, but it will be a hard journey. I couldn't decide between 2 or 3 stars, I gave 3, but really it's 2.5

2. Caraval (Stephanie Garber)
I didn't feel like reading this book at first, but started and the book really got me! It was like a mix of Alice in Wonderland and Howls moving castle. I really really liked the book! 5/5

3. Legendary (Stephanie Garber)
I liked the first book a little better, but I liked the change of the perspective and protagonist. 4/5

I started Finale and hopefully will finish it soon :)

message 12: by Lea (new)

Lea the week was really successful for me! Currently I'm reading three books at a time, and I will probably finish them all in the next two days. This week I read 6 books.

1. I finished Finale (Stephanie Garber)
It was a very good third book and a great ending for the storyline 4/5

2. High hopes (Ava Reed)
It's the first part of the Whitestone hospital series and like grey's anatomy and I like grey's anatomy, but I have to say, it was not very special 3/5

3. Drowning Souls (Ava Reed)
The next part of the Whitestone hospital series and I liked the couple in this book way better and I'm really invested in the story. I need book 3 right now! 4/5

4. Missing, presumed dead (Emmy Berquist)
I read this book in one session in the evening/night. I just couldn't put it down and I think that's all I have to say about it 5/5

5. A midsummer Night's dream (William Shakespeare)
I liked it. It was my first "book" I read from him and so far so good 4/5

6. Russische Botschaften (Yassin Musharbash)
It was a gift and I really wanted to like the book but I just couldn't. I hated the people, they were so annoying. The book had a lot of discussions I really felt weren't necessary for the plot or the story. I liked the ending 2/5

message 13: by Lea (new)

Lea this week was even more successful than last week!
I finished the 3 books I started last week, I read 8 more books and I will start a new one today (but I haven't decide which one)

1. Every summer after (Carley Fortune)
It was soo good! I loved it and it is one of my comfort reads now! 5/5

2. Defy the Night (Brigid Kemmerer)
I liked the story and the idea. I'm really excited for the second book 4/5

3. Die App (Arno Strobel)
I had fun reading the book, but I thought the ending was a bit meh 4/5

4. good girl, bad blood (Holly Jackson)
I liked it 4/5

5. You've reached Sam (Dustin Thao)
It was not a book for me. Julie war just like Elena in season one of tVd and I hated it. The Idea was good

6. Sorry, ich hab es nur für dich getan (Bianca Iosivoni)
Sadly I knew the plot on page 80 and it was not a surprise what happened in the end 3/5

7. As good as dead (Holly Jackson)
I really liked it and the plot was WOW 4/5

8. Animal farm (George Orwell)
I enjoyed it more than I thought. It was a quick read, I liked it 4/5

9.+10. I did my first tandem-read for a touch of darkness and Game of fate (Scarlett St. Clair) I really liked the idea and the story even though it didn't happen much. 4/5 for both

11. Spindeln (Lars Kepler)
I really don't like this book. 2/5
