I'm Nadine from Germany.
I don't really have a favorite genre... I read almost everything fictional as long as it's entertaining and giving me a break from the real world ;-) Mostly it's fantasy or thrillers.
My favorite reads change often, but recently I really loved Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I read the books in December and finished my "re-read" with the audio books in January, but I'm still stuck in this book world and I am still struggling to read other books.
Favorite fantasy element might be magic/magic powers. They would be nice to have in real life sometimes.
Currently reading Holly Jackson's A Good Girls Guide to Murder-Trilogy.
I can't really remember which book might have been my gateway into reading. Even before I could read myself my parents always read bedtime stories for me. If there was a gateway book, it might have been Michael Ende's The Neverending Story. The movie was released when I was about 10 and I read the book shortly after that. I guess that was the first time I wanted to live in a story world...
Regarding books being turned into movies/shows I am always a bit sceptical. Definitely team "I want to read the book first" :D But I am looking forward to season 2 of The Sandman.

Here because I can't stop thinking about Fourth Wing and Iron Flame and I have no one to talk about them with!!
- Favorite Genre
YA, fantasy and Sci-fy but I will give anything a go.
- Favorite Read
It's tricky, currently obsessed with Iron Flame, but recently read Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass series) and it was devastatingly heart breaking! Court of Mist and Fury is a big favourite too... I can't pick!
- Favorite Fantasy Element
Love power elements, whether it's born or taught. Having powers would be so cool!
- Current Read
Currently re-reading The Folk of Air trilogy by Holly Black, it's been about 4 years so I am prepping for the new one.
- Book that acted as your gateway into becoming a reader
Has to be Harry Potter, was read it at school by a teacher and it's the series that just stuck with me.
- Book you most want to see made into a film or television show
Struggle with this question as so many of my favourite books have been adapted for tv/films and they've just been ruined! However some have been amazing, the Shadowhunters TV show and His Dark Materials were brilliant. So if I knew they were going to do them well I would say the ACOTAR series or Fourth Wing. I know they are possible but they have to get them right!
Looking forward to chatting with you all, sharing theories and book recommendations. I am quite new at the spicy romantasy books!

My favorite genre is fantasy, i hardly ever read anything else but i’m not opposed to other genres.
my favorite read is priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon
my favorite fantasy element is dragons!!!
I am currently reading ACOTAR
The percy jackson series definitely was my gateway into actual reading, i read before that but that’s when it truly turned into a hobby.
I’d love to see the licanius trilogy turned into a show or movie. I recently finished it and it was so epic i’d love to see it come to life though it would be tough to match the books that’s for sure

My favorite Genre : Romantasy!!!!
My favorite Reads : Fourth Wing, A Sky Beyond the Storm, and ALL of Throne of Glass.
My favorite Fantasy Element : I love Fae and I love creatures like dragons / wyverns / etc
My Current Read : Kingdom of Ash
Book that acted as a my gateway into becoming a reader : Definitely Harry Potter, I’ve reread the series three times. But Fourth Wing definitely allowed me to start reading newer things after not reading for around a year.
Book you most want to see made into a film or television show : Throne of Glass 1000%%%% I need it so bad.

my favorite genres are fantasy and YA. I definitely obsess over book characters way to much. My favorite book series is definitely throne of glass, loved it, maybe almost died when certain characters died. I obviously loved fourth wing as well, I may have also died when SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! liam died. fourth wing was one of my first romantasy books, and I loved it so much I think I might read more romantasy from now on. I'm currently reading a queen comes to power and so far I really like it.
I'm here because I loved fourth wing and I'm new to goodreads. Hope everyone has a good day/night.

Favorite Read:
— i’m a huge fan of The Empyrean & acotar/ToG series, so my favorites (i reread a lot) are Iron Flame and ACOMAF 🩵
CR:
— Famine (Four Horsemen series)
Book that acted as my gateway into becoming a reader:
—maybe it was the Grishaverse? the box set of the trilogy+crows duology was the first thing i ever bought for myself <3
A book I most want to see adaption on screen:
— i’m ngl i get anxious with book-to-screen adaptions bc they almost never get everything right but - hypothetically if it were to be done with justice- i’d LOVE to see Fourth Wing, Serpent and the Wings of Night, One Dark Window and The Darkverse Series by Runyx maybe even the Folk of the Air, but HEAVY on SATWON!!!

My name is Darby, and my favorite book genre is fantasy books!
My recent favorite read is Fourth Wing, I’m obsessed with the world and the characters. Some other favorites I’ve accumulated include the Throne of Glass series, Seven Realms series, Talon series (I recommend this one for any who may be looking for a dragon-filled world to explore)!
I’ve been reading since I was a little girl, but one of the first series that got me into fantasy books is the Eragon series and the Chronicles of Narnia!
Obviously I’d love to see Fourth Wing made into a tv series, but Throne of Glass would be another awesome series I’d like to see be made into a show. I much prefer tv shows to movies, since shows can get more detailed!
Looking forward to reading with you all!

Favorite Genre: High fantasy, urban fantasy, romantasy, romance (love the STEM books from Ali Hazelwood) but also mystery/thriller

i would LOVE to see Fourth Wing made into a movie/show. i know there was talk of ACOTAR being made into a show so i would love to see that too.

I would say my favorite genre would have to be a good self-help book but I recently have had a love for fantasy fiction.
My favorite read would have to be Fourth Wing, and Acotar
My favorite Fantasy Element would have to be Dragons and supernatural powers
My current read right now is Ask and it is given: Learning to manifest your desires I just finished Filthy Ritch Fae because I heard so many good things about it but I did not like it at all.
The book that acted as a gateway for me to read more would have to be twilight honestly lol I was into all the books and had every dvd when I was a teenager!
Book I would want made into a tv show or movie would have to be fourth wing series which I heard it is!! It’s going to be picked up by Amazon studios I can’t wait. I just hope they cast the right characters for the show! Acotar is also going to be made into a tv series which I’m super excited for.

Feel free to add me, I love a book gossip! 🖤

As far as favorite read, I have a few, all-time favorite was Night by Ellie Weisel (holocaust story) but right at this moment Fourth Wing series has me in a choke hold.
Favorite Fantasy Element is probably the idea of when two worlds collide, most commonly fae world and human world, or the idea of discovering powers.
I don't have a current read other than I am re-reading Fourth Wing because i have so many questions left unanswered and theories. I read here and there but it was after I read ACOTAR that I completely submersed myself in the fantasy romance journey.
I would love to see ACOTAR as a show or movie because, yes, the book did a great job of giving descriptions and providing really good imagery to the scenes, I would love to see it come to life.

I live reading fantasy books as they act as a way for me to escape the world and my head. Growing up I hated reading but a couple years ago I picked up a book and fell in love with world building and fantasy books. My all time favourite read was the throne of glass series, I fell in love with the characters and the world. The series helped me with my mental health and I will never stop recommending this series. I LOVED Fourth Wing and am so excited to see how the rest of the series continues. I absolutely love gut wrenching books that have a really strong FMC, the more I connect to the book and the characters the better. I’m semi new to Goodreads and really like that there are these communities for people to connect over the same books they love.

Favorite Fantasy Element: Elves
Current Read: Crown of Midnight, The Age of Arrogance, Under the Oak Tree, True Beauty, I’ve Become a True Villainess, A Child Who Looks Like Me, A Court of Thorns and Roses, I Don’t Want to Be a Lady, The Lazy Lord Masters the Sword (I know it’s a lot lol)

so as you have guessed my favorite genre is fantasy/romantacy, as a lot of you guys probably haha
my favorite read which is also the book that made me fall in love with reading is… FOURTH WING (i know what a surprise 🙄).

And for the movie i wanna see made into a tv show…. appart from fourth wing (but tbh a part of me doesn’t) maybe Once Upon A Broken Heart ? 💔

Favorite genre: Romantasy (obviously!) and mystery/thrillers
Favorite read: American Gods was definitely a great read, but my all time favorite book is Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life
Favorite fantasy element: any magical creatures (dragons, vampires, werewolves, far - all the ghouls and goblins!)
Currently reading: Hunting Adeline 🫣
Gateway to reading: Definitely the Nancy Drew series as a kid and Mortal Instruments when I was a bit older
Book to movie: honestly, none! I don’t think movies and TV shows ever really do the books justice, so I prefer them to stay as they are!
Looking forward to having a place to chat all things books, feel free to message me as well :)

Favorite read : Comte de Monte-Cristo, A Song of Ice and Fire, Fourth Wing, Throne of Glass
Current read : Goldfinch
Book I want to see made into a TV show : Fourth Wing for sure! And Throne of glass would definitely be something.

Powerless
The Wishing Spell
Hi my name is Elizabeth.
My favorite genre is Romantasy.
My favorite book is Fourth Wing.
I kind of just love all fantasy elements. Just anything dragons,, vampire, fae, magic, special abilities really.
I'm currently rereading Powerless by Lauren Roberts.
The book that was my gateway into reading was Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger which my friend introduced to me and ever since I'm constantly reading. Although a year or two before I read that series the first series that I actually made me enjoy reading was Land of Stories by Chris Colfer.
And I don't want any of my favorite books to get turned into a book or movie. This is because I don't want it to be different from the book. If it was exactly like the book then I wouldn't care. But for example I don't want Fourth Wing to be a show. Don't get me wrong though I am so insanely happy that it's so popular since it's my favorite book.
But if they miss somethings like Violet's part silver hair, Violet refusing to cut her hair, Mira giving Violet the Book of Brennan, Violet and Rhiannon switching boots before parapet, Imogen breaking Violet's arm, during the one of the first few days Xaden talking about the relationship between Violet and Dain and teasing her about it This part “'I already knew your parents are tight,'” Xaden calls out, a cruel smile
tilting his lips. “'But do you two have to be so fucking obvious?'”
The few cadets who are still in the rotunda turn to look at us.
“'Let me guess,'” Xaden continues, glancing between Dain and me.
“'Childhood friends? First loves, even?'”(view spoiler) Then I'll actually be so upset because it makes the book so much better.

Favorite Genre: Romance/Dark Romance
Favorite Read: Series - Throne of Glass/ Standalone: Still Beating
Favorite Fantasy Element: The high stakes and political elements
Current Read: Just started my Fourth wing reread :)
Book that acted as your gateway into becoming a reader: Percy Jackson
Book you most want to see made into a film or television show: Either Throne of Glass but an animated version or the Chestnut Springs series

i’m a little late to the party i know but, even though i’m new here, i have loved reading your discussions about fourth wing and gaining fourth wing besties!
so, my favourite genre: romance w/ a lil bit of spice.
favourite read: fourth wing!!!!! 1000%.

Favorite Genre - dark romance
Favorite Read - fourth wing shiris and percy jackson and the olympion shires
Favorite Fantasy Element - dragons and mytholagy (like gods wise)
Current - looking for an inbeteen iron flame and onyx storm

My favorite genre is fantasy and memoirs. Since graduating from college I’ve been dipping my toe back into reading and start off with audiobooks before getting a kindle for Christmas.
My favorite fantasy element? Dragons 🐉 oh, and Fae. I love the idea of magic and being able to channel it. I’ve always been drawn to the magical realm when it comes to literature.
Currently I am reading Iron Flame. I’ve devoured it almost three days and I am closing on the ending and I am NERVOUS!! I keep setting the kindle down to take a breath and calm down.
My gateway book was Harry Potter. I was gifted the first book as a birthday present when I was younger and I consumed it in a matter of hours. I’ve had an insatiable appetite for fantasy since.
As for a book series I’d like to see made into a show or movie, it would have to be May Bird and the Ever After. I always thought it would have been a good trilogy for the silver screen, but at the height of its popularity Twilight and the Hunger Games were dominating the box office.

I got the books for christmas and finished them within a week.
As the algorithm on social media got me attached to Basgiath and ACOTAR feed my wish to discuss the series grew every day. That being the reason to join a group like this one :D

I was a bookworm as a kid and in my teens, started out with things like the Magic Tree House. In my teens i had a huge Hungergames and Divergent phase, which i both still love!!
Kinda stopped reading later on, but i got back into it thanks to Fourth wing!!
- Book you most want to see made into a film or television show
Hard one, i'm usually not the biggest fan of adaptations as they usually disappoint me. Maybe the Selection Series??

Fave Genre - Romantasy, Romance & Dark Romance
Favourite Read - Alexis Calder’s Blood and Salt Series and Den of Vipers.
Favourite Fantasy Element - Ooo this is hard to choose I do love a dragon but I think I really love fated mates & the whole being able to feel your mates emotions and that really deep connection.
Current Read - rereading Iron Flame in preparation for Onxy Storm
Gateway book - Divergent when I was younger and Fourth Wing really got me back into reading.
Book made into TV Show - to be honest probably none of them 😅 as my tv show genres are vastly different from my reading genres.

𝙸'𝚖 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚢 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝙽𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚗 𝙸𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚍, 𝚄𝙺. 𝙸 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚛𝚎𝚜, 𝚏𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚜𝚢, 𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗, 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚛, 𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎.

My favorite genres are fantasy and historical period dramas
Current favorite reads are Fourth Wing and The Secret History
My favorite fantasy elements are dragons and power wielders like witches
My current read is A Dark and Drowning Tide. hooray for gay yearning! Also the Game of Thrones audiobook.
The books that were my gateway into becoming a reader was the Percy Jackson series when I was 12. Absolutely adore those books to this day and desperately need to do a reread.
Would LOVE to see Fourth Wing adapted into a show.

My favourite modern read is the 'Empyrean' series by Rebecca Yarros (of course - I also can't wait to see it on screen) and I'm currently reading the 'Crowns of Nyaxia' series which I am enjoying immensely. 👑
My favourite tropes are found family, enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn romance, plot twists, happy endings for final books, hidden layers and mysteries. I adore all things dragon! 🐉
I can't remember my gateway book as I've been reading all sorts since a very young age but I believe Black Beauty was one of the first novels I read and that has stuck with me. 🐎
Some of my hobbies include anything to do with nature, listening to music, gardening and crafting when I'm not reading. 🌿
Fun fact: I'm an author myself (non-fiction) and I'm looking for friends to discuss fiction books with. I have a bookstagram - TheNightfireLibrary and would love to follow anyone with similar interests! My follows and DM's are always open for fellow bookwyrms. 📚

Favorite Genre: Fantasy/Supernatural/Smut
Favorite Read: Songs of Achilles, Harry Potter, and the Six of Crows duology
Favorite Fantasy Element: Vampires
Current Read: Fourth Wing...I know, I know, but I own all of the books so I'm set...so far loving this series.
Book that acted as your gateway into becoming a reader: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Book you most want to see made into a film or television show: Songs of Achilles if they had the right cast or a redo of the Bitten series.

I’m Lezahn, and I just finished Onyx Storm, so expect bias in my introduction…
I live in South Africa, and I’m the ultimate Harry Potter fan.
Favorite genre: historical fiction, Romance & fantasy, now… romantasy
Favorite read: As of a few days ago, all three Fourth Wing books, but realistically before that, the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley from recent years, Harry Potter for all time favorite.
Favorite fantasy element: Magic, and all the forms it can take and how authors play with it to create a world.
Current read: Onyx Storm was my 8th book for the year (it took me two weekends to read all 3 available Empyrean books), not sure if I’m reading soon again, I’m still recovering.
Gateway book(s): The Harry Potter series
Books I want in a series: NOT Harry Potter, you can never remake that perfection. So, right now, probably Fourth Wing. Oh, and the Seven Sisters series.

Favorite Genre: Romantasy, followed by Science Fiction
Favorite and least favorite trope: Favorite is long, slow teasing the whole novel, where you don't know if they'll hook up, but you hope so. Least: Enemies to Lovers... I KNOW I KNOW Fourth Wing totally worked for me but usually authors handle it so badly!!
Gateway Drug to Romantasy: A Court of Thorns and Roses. I’m a guy who grew up thinking I had to be all grit and edge, punk rock, sarcasm, no feelings, no fluff. Somewhere along the way, I bought into the idea that books with romance weren’t “for me.” What a load of rubbish. I now relish these books. So I guess just be kind to me.
Favorite Read: The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant
Favorite Fantasy Element: Magical creatures and rich world building, so I can escape this one.
Current Read: Lessons in Chemistry
Book you most want to see made into a film or television show: The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant

I live in the Scottish Highlands

- Book that acted as your gateway into becoming a reader - The Lion the witch and the wardrobe when I was a child - been an avid reader since i was about 7yrears old
- Book you most want to see made into a film or television show
fourth wing series and Powerless
happy to be here .... j

I’m so excited to be part of the Basgiath Bookclub! I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, but reading has been a challenge for me because of my dyslexia. It’s something I’ve struggled with for most of my life—but Fourth Wing is the first book that’s really inspired me to keep reading. I’m taking it slow and soaking it all in.
A little about me:
Favorite Genre: Fantasy, especially the kind with deep lore, rebellion, and a touch of danger.
Favorite Read: I don’t have a solid favorite yet, but Fourth Wing is really special to me.
Favorite Fantasy Elements: I love anything with elves, enchanted forests full of glowing mushrooms, secret magic systems, and of course—dragons.
Current Read: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
Gateway Book: Honestly, Fourth Wing is becoming that gateway for me.
Book I’d Love to See Onscreen: Fourth Wing (yep, still obsessed)—but I also really love The Hunger Games series and would love to see more stories like that on screen.
I’m also a big gamer! I love immersive story-rich games like Baldur’s Gate 3, and fantasy video games have always been my way to experience magic and adventure. Now, I’m finally starting to feel that same connection in books.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and geeking out together! 📚

I think I'm supposed to write a little about myself
I like books art and music
my favorite book series is fourth wing (so far) Ive only read the first one since I get my reads from a library so I have to wait for iron flame ;-;
Books mentioned in this topic

My favourite genre is fantasy and always has been since I was a child.
My recent favourite reads are ACOTAR and Fourth wing.
2023 had me read some awesome books!
My current read is Dragonfall not heard much about it so I’ll see how it goes!
I don’t think I want any of my favourite books made into films because it won’t be as amazing as it was in my own head and I’m scared I’ll be disappointed
:(
