Raine Falling (Hells Saints Motorcycle Club, #1) by Paula Marinaro
Finished: 5/7/15
Rating: ★★★½
I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. I loved the family atmosphere of the Hells Saints MC. I liked Raine and felt sorry for all she had endured in her young life. Diego was an idiot and I think Raine took him back too easily. I will continue with the series because I am interested in Claire's story.

This is book 1 in a long series set in the same town, but with different couples each book. I a fan of a lot of the authors who have written for this series. I want to like this series, so that's probably why 4 stars instead of 3. It was a bit slow in the middle, a bit repetitive. I have a hard time relating to a 38 man who cares what his family thinks about his sexual relationships. My brother is in his 40's, I can't imagine I would have any objections to his personal life as long as it wasn't illegal or physically hurting him.

This was an interesting novel. It is definitely funny. I also really enjoy the concept of man who retired early and finds something weird is going on in his new neighborhood. I do really like the writers style. However it took me a while to actually get in his style. I enjoy this book . Yet, I think though if I read more of this author I might enjoy the other books more.

I enjoyed this book. I am an animal lover so I read a lot of dog books. However, this memoir is written from a unique position. The author almost inherits the dog when she married her husband. It is a light quick read about them trying to blend in his children and the protective dog with this new marriage.

A murder mystery set in rural Montana with m/m romance. Sky Hayden, a gay member of the sheriff Department, and Cole Diamond have been gay since they were classmates and attracted to each other, but in rural Montana they kept separate as much as they could because neither could afford to be outed. A pile of bones is found on the outer edges of Cole's family ranch. When they find out that the bones are human and that a murder occurred they have to call in the state troopers because they are not set up to handle a murder investigation and this town is on the verge of non existence as it is. It is also gossip central. I must say that the ending came as a surprise

I really enjoyed this installment in the Rosemary Beach series. We finally get the backstory on Bethy and Tripp and find out why she had so much anger towards him. Bethy has always had a wild side and it is nice to see her get her HEA after what happened to Jace. Woods and Della's wedding was very sweet. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A good enemies to lovers story, but I wasn't sold on the mystery solving. In the relationship, the MCs screwed up, worried about it and apologized -- can't remember the last time I read that scenario.

this was were the shifters finally really entered the Assassan/shifter series. even though in the epilogue of book two it ends with Dakota only known as a wolf then shifting into human form. We see three different packs of wolf shifters in this book that deal with the aforementioned Dakota and Sam an assassin for a quasi governmental agency of assassins. At the start of the book Sam is helping out a ranger at Denali national park on his vacation, when he runs his truck into Dakota in his wolf form. The interaction between Dakota, in wolf form who is trying not to let Sam know he is a shifter, and Sam is hilarious. as always there has to be a conflict and this is caused by the pack who Kicked Dakota out because he was gay wanting Dakota, who because he found his mate is now an Alpha, back. Carson who is an asshole of an alpha isn't above kidnapping Dakota and anyone else who gets in his way like Wyatt a seven year old shifter who would have been kidnapped if another wolf shifter wouldn't have covered Wyatt and his scent up.

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 1591 comments Review: Dragon Spirit Book One of Davie and The Order of Therion by Brian Burgess

this is the start of a series that is mildly m/m but mostly low fantasy. the power is based of animal spirits of the hidden elite power caste. Davie and Jon are what are known as Grace Thieron member of the secret caste. Jon is a Phoenix and Davie is a Dragon. the order of Thieron used to be a power in the world Keeping peace and order as peacekeepers/guardians. it came to an end about 150 years ago when a then young phoenix thieron not only challenged the Current Master of the order but lead his followers in a rebellion against the current council then. the phoenix is now a king of one of the five kingdoms. The new grace thieron are led and protected by a group of thieron that escaped from the massacre of the order. including Raeburn who formed a secret group from the remnant of the loyal order and thieron that they had discovered born into the population at a later date. The book ends with Davie and the order joining forces with an ancient enemy to bring down the betrayer. the old phoenix sends in assassins to kill the leaders of the thieron and their new allies the Weres. One assassin succeeds in killing the queen of the weres but not before she can transfer leadership to her successor and order the weres to join with the thieron to exact vengeance on the betraying King.

I re-read this via audio and the narrators were great. The story is compelling with an interesting plot twist. I really liked the Gothic feel to this book. The ending dragged on and could have been cut short by a few pages but other than that an enjoyable read.

I didn't like the one MC, Remy, and it interferred with my enjoyment of the story. Because the reader did not find out about Remy's background until deep into the story, I couldn't develop any sympathy for him. He just struck me as a whiner. By the time I did realize that he had some pretty good reasons for his behavior, it was too late, I just didn't care about him.
