One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally.
Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year.
Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever. In hopes of jarring loose a new witness or buried clue, she agrees to be interviewed by a true-crime podcaster—but his interest in Isabelle's past makes her nervous. His incessant questioning paired with her severe insomnia has brought up uncomfortable memories from her own childhood, making Isabelle start to doubt her recollection of the night of Mason’s disappearance, as well as second-guess who she can trust... including herself. But she is determined to figure out the truth no matter where it leads.
(view spoiler)[ wow, I can't even imagine how tough this must be for Isabelle but she is definitely hiding a lot of secrets. I don't think a podcast is a real good idea for her! she can't control the narrative.
and I wonder why she doesn't talk about her sister
and what happened with her dad and her mom? that flashback we had
there are so many questions with little to no answers yet
and the sleepwalking - I've never been good at sleeping. I cant even imagine sleeping that deep and how unnerving it would be to wake up in places other than your bed. . . (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ wow he was married and she suddenly died. Ben is seeming pretty suspicious right now, like maybe the life with a baby wasn't one he wanted
but what's going on with her sleep walking. . . hmmm
(view spoiler)[ wow! the podcast guy! His lies!! that was just awful and how dirty! to lie and live with her, the whole time just trying to find a way to make her guilty!
I don't trust Ben as far as I can throw him, especially now knowing that she got pregnant without him wanting it. yikes
I'm not sure what happened with her sister but I can't imagine she did something to her son and was able to hide it. but I don't have any guesses either. . . (hide spoiler)]
wow that was so good!! (view spoiler)[ I started to suspect that it might have been her mom but WOW! That her husband's mistress gave him away! believed neither of the parents wanted him! OMG!
I love that Ben was in jail - although it's awful and a bit scary that Isabelle killed her yikes!
the twists were good! I liked finding out who Waylon was! (hide spoiler)]
