My second book: A Young Adult novel, called The Balance, is undergoing internal design (layout) at the moment, but should be released sometime in May. I wrote the first draft in 2011 but decided to postpone this work and published a middle grade novel, entitled The Boy Who Ran, first.

The final cut was just about 109K words, down from a peak of 150K words, before extensive editing. Ultimately, this story will span 3 volumes—the story's too long for a single book.

This is a great read. I literally devoured it in less than 24 hours. If you liked The Showing... it's better. Spooky. It reads a bit like Sheridan LeFanu or Guy de Maupassant. Awesome. Classic horror short story, except this isn't short. It's a full novel. Just wanted to clarify, it READS like a classic horror short story. Tight, spare and invoking tons of imagination.

I just released as a free post online, a short story, called The Purge. It is intended as a prequel story, an appendix to my second of four books, called The Balance. The short is a look back, eighteen years before the beginning of The Balance, and is really intended as a piece for people who read the book and are familiar with the world and the characters of that dystopian tale (the short has little time for character or world development). The story is just under 10 thousand word.

The Balance is intended as the first of a three-volumes, which continue and complete the entire story of The Balance.

I am currently working on Volume 2, subtitled The Wastelands and the Wilderness (which will be my 5th book and is planned for release sometime next year).
