Tahun ini nafsu buku saya menjadi-jadi. Dua buah lagi buku saya yang baru:

1. Mekar Sakura di Mimbar Cinta - yang ini dibeli sebab koleksi cerpennya menang 10,000 hadiah HPSM.

2. Ilmu Pengaruh: Bukan Jampi, tetapi Seni - yang ini buku yang sedang hangat di pasaran. Mutu editorial buku ini agak baik, berbanding buku PTS yang lain. Dan pengarangnya pun banyak mengarang termasuk dalam Jurnal Pemikir.

Dan 2 buah jurnal baru:

3. Dua buah Jurnal Pemikir (Oct-Dis 2009, Jan-Mac 2010). Kali pertama beli jurnal-jurnal ini, tapi melekat. Isu-isunya semasa, menarik, nasional dengan kupasan mendalam. Ada peminat PEMIKIR di sini? Boleh kongsi cerita.

Najibah, nasib kita agak serupa. Kekadang beli buku secara sembunyi2. Tak gamak dengar "ceramah" sepanjang hari! :LOL:

Saya telah membeli koleksi tetralogi Laskar Pelangi untuk menjadikan hubby saya seorang "Pembaca Tegar"; agar dia dapat memahami minat saya nan murni ini tanpa kompromi; seterusnya untuk mengurangkan siri-siri ceramah yang seterusnya... :P

Aidura, saya ingat saya sorang saja mengalaminya :D
Inipun belum bawa balik 3 buah dari buku-buku yang baru beli tu, ada di tempat kerja - kena bawa pulang beransur-ansur.

Sama jugalah, sedang dalam proses nak jadikan dia pembaca buku tegar - kalau baca majalah dan akhbar (online / offline) dia sebenarnya lebih juara dari saya. Tapi selagi dia tak betul-betul jadi peminat buku, susah pula bila keinginan beli buku tak terkepung lagi!

Seperti biasa bila cuti sekolah sahaja, balik Kuala Lumpur (kampung isteri). Peluang paling tidak dilepaskan sudah semestinya singgah ke kedai buku :)

These two books are really important to me, because they mark the beginning of books-on-books collection that I've planned for so long.

I think I've become more of a book collector rather than an avid reader lately. Should I disregard motherly and wifely duties to allow more time to read and write. Huh?

84, Charing Cross Road is a great book and a nice movie. Long distance pen-pals which started with a request for a book. Sad ending, though. Oops, did I just spoil the book?

actually , i'm on a long medical leave, two months, until tuesday next week. my entire leg is in a cast. so i'll be missing out on the MPH and Bookxcess sales, bummer. when's the new bookxcess opening again? might need to check it out. tapi tak beli... hahaha

miaomiao, biarpun you're on a long medical leave dan tak dapat melawat ke kedai buku, tapi you masih ada lagi option lain... masih boleh beli buku secara online maaaa... ngehhhhh :D

Terjumpa Kasut Biru Rubina di celah-celah buku travel yang tak ada kena-mengena langsung dengan genre buku ni. Terus beli.

Pagi tadi pi Summit USJ, Popular punya cardmembers' sale day (esok deme start layan non-cardmembers). Dug my heels in and literally dove into the 90% discount counter.

Came home with 39 (39!!!) books and one poster of the human anatomy, all for the princely sum of (insert drum roll here) RM75.80 (yes! you read right! RM75.80!!)

Euphoria! I am ecstatic! On cloud nine! Tralalalalaaaaaa!

Hampir tak boleh bernafas baca cerita Kataklicik. 90%! 39 books for 70+ ringgit. Tolong dailkan 999 untuk saya.

Hehehe selalunya kat Popular booksale ni saya rajin cari buku-buku local authors dan kiddie books (yes, remind me again that my kids are all bigger now). Tapi kali ni saya jadi tamak haloba sikit, selfishly bought books untuk diri sendiri..! (But oh, the human anatomy poster is for my 9yo nephew yg into these things. Does that count? So mebbe not so selfish after all heheh).

Included in the 39 is a compendium of ALL of Jack London's short stories (tebal gila tapi only RM2.50), The Great Escape (the book that inspired the war movie where they escaped from that WW2 POW camp, RM5), First Blood (yes, Rambo; which I did not know came from a book, RM1), a set of Darren Shan's first 3 Cirque Du Freak Boxed Set #1 (RM3!!) and 11 full-sized hardcover books (teeheehee)

I have not come down from my cloud yet. Am postponing thoughts of (eeek!) mana nak disimpan buku-buku ni...

Hey, I just bought Brickhill's "Great Escape" from Amazon and "First Blood" from BookXcess! Haven't read them yet but yeah, I confess I bought them because of the movies and wanted to see if the source material is better (it usually is).

I received the two books I ordered from Book Depository; 84, Charing Cross Road & So Many Books: Reading and Publishing in an Age of Abundance. Lucky me, I put the home postcode for workplace address, Alhamdulillah the books still arrived on time.

So if you want to buy hard-to-find books in Malaysia, online, I gladly recommend Book Depository! They have two sites, one co.uk, and the other .com. Prices may vary among these two sites, so check them out before ordering. I'm buying more from them next month.

- Howard's End is on the Landing: A Year of reading from home (memoir. Najibah would like this. It's a book about books)

- Books, Baguettes and Bedbugs: The Left Bank World of Shakespeare and Co. (memoir. Najibah would like this. It's a book about a bookshop)

Sulalatus Al-Salatin ya'ni Perteturun Segala Raja-Raja Melayu (Sejarah Melayu) - (history. Najibah would like this...oh, wait. She's already read it. I have the English translation, The Malay Annals, which I plan to compare it to someday)

- Hikayat Hang Tuah (history. Finally!)
