Q: What are the spell out rules?
A: You may use the Author's first/last initial, first letter of title & series names. Letter X can be anywhere in title/series

Q: Regarding informal buddy reads, who gets bonus points?
A: Anyone who participates in the buddy read gets bonus points

Q: Can we do more than 1 buddy read per monster?
A: You may do as many buddy reads as you want as long as the task allows for it. There are consecutive title and series tasks that would not allow for it. Please use the link provided to sign up for buddy reads. Buddy reads for this challenge should be done HERE IN HOB. Buddy Reads in other groups do not count for bonus points.

definition of sea creature: any of numerous animals inhabiting the sea including e.g. fishes and mollusks and many mammals. synonyms: marine animal, marine creature, sea animal.

Sea Monsters live in the sea so by the definition above they are sea creatures.

For page count is it just the edition you link that has to have certain. Numbers or the edition your reading? As sometimes their different

Unless otherwise specified, it should be the edition you are reading. For audio, use the default.

Oh right. That might be tricky! What about covers? I have found a different language book that has what I’m looking for but the English one doesn’t?

Edition read unless audio, then use the default.

I mean can we be reading a book on the 20th and you don’t post the new monster until 21st. Can we use that book for the new monster even though we had already started reading it on the 20th

Fine. As long as the previous monster is checked in BEFORE the book is started. However, there is no banking of books. So you can't finish a book before a new monster is posted and try to use it.

Just an FYI... GR seems to be having issues again. I have noticed that threads are showing old messages as new again. Notifications are also wonky. Some are coming through right away and others come through a day or so later. As such, I have started doing rounds of my threads. This means it will take longer for me as I am running 4 large challenges. Please bear with me.

For the task: Read a chain of 3 books set in a jungle

Would you accept ? It's set in the Phillipines and it sounds like it's the jungle, but I want to be sure.

I’ve read this for eyes but my team mate realised he didn’t have eyes on cover. There’s a different edition on good reads it comes under audio but on amazon it’s under kindle. Can I use that https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...

If it sounds like a jungle, it probably it. I'm not picky. Use your best judgement.

I will accept it this time but please try to check GR in the future. I know Amazon always changes covers, so I understand how frustrating it is to realize after you already read the book. We have all been burned by this. It is best practice to check GR before you read but I understand if you forget.

Yes, It should be GR covers and should be the edition that you read.

Well, the task says they are trying but some couples want to get pregnant and still leave it up to fate. They don't push the issue but also don't do anything to avoid getting pregnant. So I guess if they are not actively trying to avoid getting pregnant, I wouldn't have an issue with that. No "my birth control failed" accidents would count.

Will there be a new Roundup challenge for this year? I think it'd be great to start at the beginning of the challenge with a competitive team.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the team I'm currently in. I'm just eager for the next one you do.

Last year was Titan Monster Roundup. The year before was Halloween Roundup. What will my crazy mind come up with this year? Hmm, there are a few more months for me to figure it out. I guess you will just have to wait and see ; )

Just FYI, the challenge usually runs Sept-Nov.
