As an example, there's this audiobook version of The Catcher in The Rye that I highly recommend: (https://soundcloud.com/stephen-heintz...)

i cant focus while listening to books and doing other things, but i also cant sit still listening to books :)

I know a lot of readers listen to audio books, I have tried several, but find while listening my mind wonders or I get very easily distracted. Unless you get an audio book with amazing narration. A lot of the narration on some really great books I found very monotone and would just put you to sleep. Hence why I can not bring myself to join audible. I am my most happy with a physical book in my hands.

I don't like audiobooks, I just get distracted by other things and forget to listen. Also, they're so slow. I can read several chapters in the time it would take to listen to one. For example, in The Hobbit, chapter one is like an hour long! I could read that in less than 20 minutes.

The only reason I am able to "read" as many books as I do is because of Audiobooks. They allow me to get through books while I'm doing other things like driving, cooking, working out etc. They are my go to! 🎧 🫶🏼

Me too. I always have 2 books going at a time. One audiobook and one on my e-reader.

If the book is engaging, I'll end up with 2x speed cause I can't get through it fast enough.
I depens on the narrator of course, if they are monotone and unengaging, I can't stand it.

I have often found books I don't enjoy reading for some reason or another are easier to consume in audio format with the right narrator, so sometimes if I find a book hard to read, I will listen to it instead. Though I also love them when I'm unable to read (eyes being difficult, migraines, etc.) as well, as I can still consume books.

I think it depends on the type of books for me. Anything poetry loses its magnitude when you can't see the words, but novels I think are still nice to listen to. I also like that I can do stuff I don't wanna do while listening to it and it doesn't suck so bad anymore
