I also wasn't a fan of this one - too much description of financial issues - not enough romance and action until the very end.
The whole book could have benefited from 200 fewer pages and shorter sex scenes. But I did love the action at the end too. I love the families and how Laurens has presented them, which is why I keep reading these books.

Me too! She is a wonderful storyteller and her books would be 5 stars if she had a better editor.
It really seems like her publisher and editor have let her have her way and that is not a good thing.

Happy August to everyone! Stay cool, drink something tall and frosty and read a good book! A lot is happening with my family this month. Our last ski trip with friends and family happened the first week and was a blast! Then our Church is having a family camp - tents, sleeping bags and outdoor cooking. Totally not my scene. We're renting a cabin! Finally, my kiddos start school.
