Oh, I will be looking forward to Traitors Gate - William Warwick, also!
I bought the next 4 or 5 books in the 44 Scotland Street series when there were only 8 books written. Still haven't read the 2nd book yet. I was fascinated by the first story though.

Re seeing what we have in common: I am not sure about listing series I am not currently "working" on - it feels too much like a "should read" list and I seem to work badly with those. A couple of days ago I stumbled upon a blog post from 2014 that listed all the books I was going to read "soonish" (mostly because I owned physical copies of them) - 9 years later I managed about 10 out of the 200 books listed.
I am bad about keeping up with plot lines, so I usually gobble up a series in one setting - which of course means I can only read it once it is finished. I do remember re-reading the first four books of Jeffrey Archer's Clifton Chronicles. I had read the first three shortly before book 4 came out, only to realise that there would be more. Years later, I did not remember anything about those four books and had to start over... (it was worth it, though).
With crime series (I usually read British police procedurals), it is a bit easier, as you can read newly-released books without the backstory of the earlier ones. I do prefer to read them one after the other, however. I feel closer to the main characters (= the investigation team and their immediate circle) that way.

I agree that having a list sometimes feels like "I must read" at times, but I started it to be able to find books for challenges, here on YLTO. It is true, that I do put off reading my physical books. I think it is just because I know that they are always going to be there, so why hurry?
Characters in series become like family members to me. I think that is why I like some more than others. I do not have a genre I like more than others, but romance series are what I like least. I like sci-fy (Star Trek) and police/detective series (Sherlock Holmes), especially set in England too.
Have you tried Barker & Llewelyn by Will Thomas? You might like them. There are cueetnely 13 books and #14 is due this year, but not sure when. Some Danger Involved is the first one.
Enjoy your reading!

I love Star Trek and have read a number of novels set in that universe.
One fine day, I am going to read all 31 books in Raymond Feist's Midkemia series. I already read some parts (books 1-7 and 21-23), but my goal is to (re-)read them all in order.

I haven't read the first two books, but I am quite sure I watched all of the Midsomer Murders episodes and thus should be able to follow the proceedings. ;)

I'll move the series out of my list and instead start a new one: the DCI Ryan Mysteries by L.J. Ross. I started the audio version of the first book last night and really liked the narration.

I just love listening to audiobooks of stories set in Scotland!

Onwards!

Luckily just all the copies are available (at least for now) through Kindle Unlimited. Makes it easy to get them without waiting.

I spent exactly five weeks with the 20 (audio)books in the DCI Ryan series.
Now it is time go and chase some orphans and/or some books for the yearly challenge.

After reading books 1-4 a few years ago I needed a break from the series as it was overly formulaic, with the same sequence of events in nearly every book.
Having now given the series another chance, I have decided to not bother any further with it.

I am listening to the audiobooks read by Angus King, who does a splendid job with all the Scottish accents (as far as I can tell, anyway).
