I’ll say this. There are so very many character aspects, main and secondary, to track that this feels minor. Nora has made a few in the past involving character names and has acknowledged it when it was pointed out, going so far as to mention it on her website. The poster sounds petty, especially using it as a defense to assert she’s using ghost writers.

Not sure why you posted this here, ElectricOutcast. Do you share the point of view? Do you care? What’s your purpose?

I think you are 100% correct about that, especially when during the Concealed saga where there was a controversy (for lack of a better term) over the incorrect mention of Eve's button that Roarke carries with him.

But to give you as honest an answer as I can, I thought it looked like an interesting conversation piece, but the ghost writing argument that this person was spewing is just an outright excuse to deny that the characters are growing up and getting out of their shells. They haven't completely gotten out of the shell yet, but each volume feels like a step forward in their evolution of humanity.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3059 comments I run across this "ghostwriter" claim every so often. I think it is a comment people make when they can't find anything negative to put in a review, and their main goal is to write something negative, so they strike out at the author.

Nora is a very prolific writer. She has mentioned documented timelines for her characters, but I'm sure she doesn't note every sentence in every book. Why would she? It is impossible for her to review everything written about Eve and Roarke when she gets into the next story. If she did re-reads of her books like her fans, she wouldn't have time to write.

There is no way Nora Roberts would use a ghostwriter. The writing community would come down on her like a committee of vultures. She could not hide that fact, and it made my skin boil when I read it.

I have a friend who is also a prolific writer. She makes mistakes sometimes, and her ARC team finds them for her. Depending on her deadline, sometimes she can correct them, and sometimes she has to let the books go to press and put the error on her FB page or her website. Nora doesn't have an ARC team. She has an editor who does an excellent job for the most part.

The general public is ready to point out errors, knowing they couldn't do anything better. Don't you hate it when an author is human?

ElectricOutcast (electicoutcast) | 639 comments I have to confess something about this volume, and I don't think I'm alone on doing this, I haven't done a re-listen of this book since the day it came out and I think it's mostly because of the girls dying in this book. Bright futures ahead of them and some insecure douchebag had to go and not only kill them but also wreck the lives of their families.

Basically this volume left me so traumatized that I can't bring myself to give it another listen. I'm not alone on that am I?

Robb did too good a job in developing the victims. She made me want to cry. But! The ending is so good that it’s enough for me to reread it someday. To your point, Electric Outcast, it won’t be soon.
